I just went through "hec" trying to order a lap top. It was ridiculous. Someone in the order verfication department called us (my wife and I) multiple times trying to confirm our address. The billing address is a PO BOX (because mail isn't delivered to the house in our community); whereas our ship to address is our home address.
After multiple attempts of talking to a HELPDESK in INDIA, DELL still figured out a way to screw this up. My laptop made it all the way to the local UPS shipping depot when Dell recalled it because of some failed address verification. Of course, it took 5 days and multiple CS people in DELL to get to the "real issue" which was that some Dell person had pulled the order because the address did not verify.
I called my credit card company and they said all information was correct, which would make sense, especially since I have order online products and had them shipped for 3.5+ years.
BUT NO, DELL had me calling UPS, UPS calling DELL, DELL calling other people in DELL. OF course, the patented answer is "That's not my job, or that so and so told me wrong". Of course, except for when I was calling UPS it was all DELL to me, regardless of who I was talking to.
PLUS having to communicate with the DELL staff in INDIA was extremely painful.
My wife wanted this lap top and ordered it through some EMPLOYER discount program; otherwise, I would have been happy to tell DELL to go to "XXXX".
After this torture, I would NEVER, NEVER order anything from DELL. I've had bad customer shopping experiences before, but this experience now ranks as the WORST. Congrats DELL, you are #1 on my worst experience list. _________________ Buy anything but DELL |
