whats wrong with californias finest?
if its that bad dude... just quit... what are you proving by staying there....
If its so bad that you cant say ANYTHING good about where you work then maybe its time to move on. If change is such a bad thing then just quit. Wait... dont do that... that would be the biggest change of all AND you wouldnt get that piddly paycheck that your about to get in 3 hours. _________________

| Every day is a new adventure. If people can't deal with that then they should pack it in. But change for the sake of change is not a good thing. It's just change. It's like the old saw which states "The more things change, the more they stay the same.". |

If you would use just a tiny bit of that experence you claim you have with every thing you have done at dell you know that these changes keep you employed. Its either change or close down. Look at the trend in the numbers man... things were not looking good for us.
Do you know what P&L report is? If you took a guess at that using NV numbers then you KNOW what the alternative is.
We cut our own throats, litterally. We are lucky to be getting tonights check and the next one. _________________

And you know as well as I do that the number are rigged. It's been shown time and again. India was someones BPI project and now it's consuming the company. Were you around during Bangaroo ? I mean not on vacation or some such. If you were you must remember what Mike Thompson said afterwards. How we had proven how good Nashville was by reducing the number of total calls and raising the customers satisfaction ratings. How it was undeniable data that contradicted everything every manager in Austin had been saying.

Figures Lie and Liars Figure. You know it's not accurate so why are you defending them ?

Lucky ? I saved at least a half dozen customers from writing off Dell as a complete loss today. Perhaps some aren't pulling their weight but I've more than earned my income.

Glad your back Lone, BUT I would highly advise not starting an argument with Blaze or Grissom. We have changed our policies and will not tolerate abuse.
Find a thread to read, or post something. This is the nicest way I can put it for you. You also may want to look around, alot of your buddies aren't here anymore, apparantly they couldn't understand these rules. _________________ Dell Laptop Repair

I guess you missed the reference.

Prove ? To who ? I have nothing to prove to anyone there. I do my time as I need to put food on the table and clothes on the backs of my family. I know you probably can't relate to that responsibility but I assure you that that is the only reason I stay in the hole called Dell.
Don't worry though. I have a plan. One that is slowly coming together. One that Dell can't help with even though I have sold a significant amount of their merchandize. One that will put me well out of the so-called white collar field and hopefully where I will be working for a company that has respect and is in turn respected by its customers, employees and management.
| Quote: | | If its so bad that you cant say ANYTHING good about where you work then maybe its time to move on. |
I can say something good about Dell. Catch this. They made a few people filthy rich. Dell as a company embodies the American Dream. A dream that causes many nightmares but is realized in the pockets of a few.

Repitition is not a good thing in a discussion.

LOL ! I don't think you have ever heard me say how piddly that paycheck is but in fact you're not too far of the mark. Let's say that for now Dell offers me the balance of schedule, income and benefits that allow me to attend to other needs. How long this will continue is anyones guess.

Close. Twain was a fan of Disraeli who said
"There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics."

Honey ? Roger, darling !

Will do. Had several wondeful calls today that were short and sweet 'cause the Indians still haven't figured out how to troubleshoot a problem.
Let'see, no sound on a Dim 3000.
Replace the motherboard.
Still no sound ?
Musta been DOA.
Replace the motherboard.
Still no sound ?
Gee what are the odds of you getting 2 DOA motherboards ?
Replace the motherboard.
Still no sound ?
Transfer that one to Blaze !
"No sound ? And the speakers are battery powered ? Can we take the batteries out since you don't have an AC adapter ? Hear that ? Yeah. That's sound. Your batteries are so dead they're killing the amplification circuit."
Welcome back ! |

Welcome Back Lone!
Grissom, Blaze, kudos on your civility! I could almost envision the two of you with monicals and tophaps debating this issue over a cup of tea while reading the thread!
Blaze does make the good point of history repeating itself. Dell does change itself constantly, and not every change has been good. A bad idea that pushes the company ahead is still a bad idea. How long have they been looking into this idea? How much time have they put into overseeing the data? Is this really the best way to solve this issue? Can they be trusted on their word that no layoffs will come when they have broken it so many times in the past? Those kind of thoughts beget uncertainty, and uncertainty is why fear is related to change. _________________ I may not agree with what you say, but I will fight for your right to say it.

The nice thing about this thread... Blaze and Grissom are showing that you can debate like adults, and without foul language! _________________ Dell Laptop Repair

| Someone once told me that "Foul language is for those with limited vocabularies". If I'm going to commit to helping this site, I'm going to attempt do it in a manner which is more respectable than in the past. In reviewing some of my posts I was a little "over the top". You can't be an example without setting one. |
