I ordered a usb 3.5 floppy drive. I picked one based on availability (ships in 3 to 5 days) After two delay notices and 1 hour on the phone I was told that the item is no longer available and my order would be cancelled immediately. I sent a disgruntled email and had a reply .
"I apologize you are experiencing a delay in shipment of your order. Dell is making every effort to ship your order as soon as possible. The product that you have ordered is currently on back order with no estimated delivery date. I have sent an e-mail internally to obtain this information. Request you to contact us back after 48-72hrs for the tracking details."
This is either a canned answer or the person who cancelled my order immediately actually didn't. On my previous calls I was punted from one person to another and cut off when I was sent to a closed department. I have ordered elsewhere and will continue to do so. |

Letting your State Attoruney General Fraud division know is a good idea. Also the FTC would love this information. Seems Dhell is doing the Bait and switch. _________________ Former employee of Dell and can say that they

Huh? I don't see the switch.
Dell can never get its lies straight. "Cancelled" orders usually end up getting shipped, especially for high-value items. Even if you TOLD them to cancel it and they said they did.
For a small-change item like a floppy, it's probably really cancelled and the lie is that they're "looking into it".
Buy from Fry's or Newegg. If the Dell shipment arrives, refuse it. _________________ Rocke T Sinetist

The quetion that I need to know is:
Did Dhell charge you for the item? If so they they have generated free cash to invest untill they are forced to return it or sell you something else. _________________ Former employee of Dell and can say that they
