In 2004 I purchased a Dell and swore I would never buy from them again. Follishly, I just bought a Alienware laptop and found they are just as bad as they were in 2004.
First, they offered 3-5 day shipping. When the order printed it had changed to 5-7 day shipping. No problem...I will just call Dell "Customer Service" and straighten it out, thought I. STUPID!!!
I got the usual third world, barely intelligible support employee. As I explained my simple problem, I could hear the keyboard clicking away. Thereafter came the programed response. "I am sorry for the inconvienance. You have ordered 5-7 day shipping and I see that is what the order calls for" came the read aloud response. "No...the special offfer for all refurbished laptops is 3-5 day shipping. Just look at the website." More keyboard clicking and then "I am sorry for the inconvienance. I see that you ordered the 5 to 7 day shipping. I see from your order that you will receive the 5 to 7 day shipping." Seeing that I was not going to move beyond this point with the drone on the phone I asked for a supervisor. I was then transferred to the "Complaint Department." Same clicking keyboard, same mindless response.
