Well, I'm finished working on my Dellsaster.
They sent out a 1737 this time, with the 3650 ATI card, and 2 x 500GB HDD's, they gave me the fastest T9550(1066Mhz FSB)CPU and 8GB's of DDR2-800Mhz in an attempt to make me happy again.
Strangly its working so far(for over 30 days!!!),
so I'm going to see what happens.
They didn't say anything about the battery so now I have 8-9 hours of unplugged time, with the one I kept.

Anyone have the ASUS Eee PC1000? I bought it while waiting for the second Studio replacement.
It's a really great little Netbook, with the Atom CPU, when running with 2GB of DDR2-533Mhz MEM and a 20GB SSD, with a 16GB SDHC card and
dualbooting Xandros Linux came with/XP home(I installed)! |

I am on hold listening to insipid music after talking with my third Dell drone about my daughter's laptop. The computer has been a lemon since purchase. It crashes more than it works, the fan sounds like a jet plane on take-off (she couldn't work in her dorm room because the computer was so noisy it would keep her roommates awake), and it has had to be reformatted at least twice.
Then, the screen and the motherboard went out. You would think Dell would replace the computer - nope, they send out a technician, who replaces one motherboard with a new, equally defective one. So they send out a second technician, who puts in the third motherboard, starts up the computer, which promptly shuts down because it is overheating.
I am on hold still because Dell insists on sending out a technician again. They readily admit they don't know what's wrong with the computer, especially because they can't test it since it won't work. But they won't replace it, and tell me that if it's sent back to them, it will take a minimum of three weeks to see it again.
Funny, I never had these problems with my HP laptop. |

I found the site when I was looking into how to sue Dell. I bought what was supposed to be an mazing system last year and have had nothing but problems since about 2 weeks after purchase.
The hard drive freezes up randomly and so far, instead of replacing the machine, all they have done is send out refurbished parts. Even AFTER I received a letter from Dell acknowledging that the Seagate hard drives (I have a 1TB) will freeze and data will suddenly become “unavailable” they still refused to replace the machine until about two months ago.
So, after calling the corporate office and emailing daily they finally give in and say they’ll replace the machine; only, for the last two months they have been finding excuses not to send it. I give them all the information they ask for and they keep coming up with new problems and new items they want (e.g., they claimed they cannot find my service tag number…so, I easily find it in one of the many emails they sent me and send it to them…and they have ignored me for the last two days since then).
I wish I had found this site last year.

I just wrote a short email to Dell support, ended it with
"I hate your company"
Typed www.ihatedell.com in a browser window just for the hell of it.
WTF? Google says there is a www.ihatedell.net???? This I gotta see.
OMFG ... it's not just me. We are legion. Unbelievable. On second
thought, no, it's entirely believable. |

I am shocked that the site has dropped in the search engines, as it used to be the #1 site for the terms about hating dell or boycotting dell. What happened? _________________ www.NashvilleTechSupport.com is now open in Nashville for computer and laptop repair. |

Go look at the links for "dell complaints" that supercede us. I recall seeing a lot of high profile media sites that get more attention from Google because they get more hits overall.
When we were high on the first page, we were also the bleeding edge clearinghouse of Dell's rancidity. Now, a LOT more people know and document it. Who knows? We may be a victim of our own success. _________________ Rocke T Sinetist
