I bought a desk top computer XPS & delivered last november. Starting January this year, the blue screen keep coming on the wireless mouse & keyboard do not work. After months of taking to the support tech, they finally send me to their corporate office in India. I have spend more than 12 hours with the technician during this period of time. Finally they replaced my 2 hard drive after sending the technician out twice. The technician have spend 2 hours with the support tech on the phone on hold & after being dispatch around the world. It work briefly then the wireless keyboard quit working. They send me a new keybord that do not work. I have been e-mailing the corporate office & all I got is the out of office reply. this has been on going for 1 1/2 month. I also bought a laptop for my nephew. a XPS & the screen has no start icon. I also paid fro extended warranty. I just don't want to spend several hours with the tech support. I wanted to know where I can send the computer to have it repair by them.

This will sound brusque, but the place to send Dells to get a computer that works is the landfill. In the last 2 years, it has become an axiom that the more you pay for a Dell, the more trouble you will have.

There is a reason for this. Dell no longer performs any engineering or testing. They throw it all off onto Chinese vendors, who are so far removed from the purchasers that they don't care whether the damn thing works or not. The more features you try to cram into the same box, the more likelihood they will interact in an unfavorable way unless they are engineered to work together, which nobody is doing.

And I don't need to tell you, you have already discovered, that Dell is completely oblivious to customer experience. "Out of office", "In a meeting" is their stock reply. Hell, they can't even make the fan run right in Inspiron 530s, after a half dozen BIOS revisions. They don't care, they've already got your money, and that's their only goal.

Sorry, neglected to answer your question. To my knowledge, Dell does not repair desktops by sending them somewhere, the shipping is too expensive. They only depot-repair laptops.

I'm afraid you're stuck with the phone guy and the contractor who comes to replace parts the phone guy told him to. The only good news I can think of, is that after 3 attempts to repair the same thing within 90 days, they are obligated to replace the entire system. They probably won't do this spontaneously, you'll have to request it, and even then you will get a runaround because the phone answerers get downrated for dispatching entire systems, though it's their job and obligation when they can't fix the one you have.

You can see why, as more people discover what business with Dell is really like, fewer will have anything to do with them.
