Now why on earth is there a label in the Irish manufacturing factory that clearly states "Assembled in the USA"?
I have one with me which I can photo, but cba atm.
There have been whispers on the factory floor before how the computers that Dell assembles for the US military are not supposed to be assembled anywhere else except for the US, but they are here in Ireland and in China too from what I have been told. Who knows if that is true? |

That's fairly suspicious alright, fish. Dell being the profligate liars they are, I'd say you've caught them lying--again.
Unless of course they mean the STICKER was assembled in the USA.

Wouldn't it be lovely if Dell got caught up in "Sticker-Gate"? 
This would be just another piece of their intricate web of lies. I'm fairly certain that this would be a criminal offence punishable by law and heavy, heavy fines of some sort if they are deliberately misleading people by saying it was "Assembled in the USA" when in fact, it never touched American soil during build. "Meant to screw USA" would be a more appropriate sticker to use.
Maybe someone should operate as a "Deepthroat" and drop a complaint to these people:

I wonder if the new DHell units headed for store shelves will have the "Made in USA" label on the box. After all, they're being shipped from Tennessee to the stores but being assembled in Mexico. Maybe the box will be made in USA?

I wouldn't count on it. The Chinese are usurping our packaging businesses too. The only positive outcome of high fuel prices may be the increased cost of shipping from Asia.
Dell could walk the thin line between blatantly lying and figurative lying, by saying "assembled in America". Mexico is geographically part of North America.
I'm a lot more concerned that the Mexico assembly operation is a unit of Foxconn, the Chinese hosebags. I'm even concerned for Mexicans; Foxconn is that bad.
