Sorry have been gone for a while. Have been moving out of RR since the lay off. But of course dhell won't let me go that easy.. no no no.. They're so called flagship (back in the day) laptop: my xps m1210 just have to break. The "i" key fell out (or popped?). I can't wait for the 3G iPhone to come out, not cuz i'm a mac dude or nethin. I already have the 2G. But, because it will signal the beginning of the end for michelle dhell and his faggot scam he calls a company.. he can pack up and leave the state of texas or better yet the USA cuz I am sick and tired of his $#!t.

Sorry for the rant, had to.. moving in the texas heat aint fun and we all know who is at fault. Regardles, got a question for y'all:

How do I get around to get service for my keyboard? I got the whole xps 3 yr warranty when i bought this sorry refurbished machine. How do I do this without sending my computer off in some wild mail adventure? cuz I really need it for job searching etc. Mind you how the xps m1210 damaged. It was inside a case logic sleeve. and the whole thing is inside a laptop bag (if u need to know it's a nike bag with an external skelleton design, basically really protectng the laptop).

If any of consumer is reading out there: Baby, that is a testament of build quality! DO NOT buy a dhell under any circumstances. Look at what happening in NM and NY. This is a company that pride themselves in scamming old ladies. If I was the man I was 5 years ago, I take a..(watch "Scent of a woman" for complete quote, one of Pacino's finest work)

Anywhooo, Long AAPL/HPQ/IBM, Short dell. Don't waist your live and/or money/capital on a co that is ethically bankrupt.

The 'whole' warranty should include in-home. It shouldn't take more than a couple days to get a new keyboard to you, and as the problem is simple and mechanical, the scriptmonkeys shouldn't have any trouble dispatching a keyboard.

Even if it's not in-home, there should be an option to send you a keyboard for you to install yourself. Don't send it off if you can help it. Dell's repair contractor is just as disreputable as Dell itself. They have an abysmal record of not repairing things, botching repairs, losing components, losing entire systems. The frequency with which it happens makes me think those things aren't getting lost, they're getting stolen within the facility.

If the scriptmonkeys refuse to just ship you a replacement keyboard, I think it would be preferable to buy one at your own expense than to send it off. Besides, the fact that you're moving would make the address situation impossible to straighten out.

Don't even think about shipping your laptop to Dell for repairs. It will either disappear, take three years to fix, or come back even more broken than it was before.

Insist that Dell send the parts to a technician and have the technician repair it in your home. And make sure the technician is not drunk or high on drugs. I read somewhere that a drunk technician sent by Dell tried to fix a customer's motherboard with a hammer (seriously).

Comm,

I have no doubt that that's the truth. I've been told from a fairly reliable source that sexual harasment is the number one problem and "wild goose chase" is 2nd for tech service. Build quality is the least of dhell problem. There is a reason why an douche like carty only stayed a very short period with dhell.. He sees that the ship is sinking and everyone in the streets are getting in line to take a swing @ michelle.. rats always abandon ship at the best time. karma police happens to be watching michelle, get ready, because if you haven't notice, very few people actually like and/or respect you.

And NO. michelle dhell you are not the 2nd coming of steve jobs. One, you are a MORON. Two, you are NOT a visionary. Three, I like to say t twice: you are a MORON. Have fun in the hell you created.

Sexual harasment in technical support!? A sordid business. There is no stone of depravity that Dell has not turned.

Sexual harrassment happens everywhere buddy, read a paper Razz lol

However, some of the complaints are just over eager PC laden workers who can't take a joke or are out to ruin you because you dumped them. Yes, I've seen it happen. Rolling Eyes

If you can get sexually harrassed flipping burgers, getting harrassed answering phones shouldn't be that hard to fathom.

You can get a replacement keyboard for probably less than 15 bucks, and it only takes about 3 minutes to install. Im not sure if I would waste hours on end with tech support over getting dell to fix this, or trying to.

Ahh, the Dell mantra: "Customers should fix their own shit and not bother us".

Or, customers should not buy shit--Dell--in the first place. Dell has been trying to teach us that for 7 years, why won't we learn?
