John Medica, a former senior vice president at Dell Inc., has joined the board of National Instruments Corp.
Medica, who was also previously a senior director for Apple Inc., retired from Dell in April 2007. There he was responsible for worldwide development, marketing and quality as chief of the product group. He currently also serves as the vice chairman and corporate advisor of Compal Group.
"Throughout his career, John has demonstrated strong business, product and technology leadership, and I believe these qualities along with John's experience in the PC industry will benefit NI," says James Truchard, president and CEO of Austin-based National Instruments (NASDAQ: NATI).
National Instruments creates off-the-shelf software and various forms of hardware for roughly 25,000 companies worldwide. In 2007, the company reported total sales of roughly $740 million. National Instruments has about 4,800 employees in nearly 40 countries.
