We ordered a new laptop YEAH! A RED one! YEAH! We ordered through Dell.com..... CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We ordered on 5/30/08 and have been "updated" to let us know there is a delay in getting parts.... The dell will not ship until "possibly" June 21!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF! I am SO stinking angry. Do not order from Dell b/c you will only be disappointed in the huge wait time. And since Dell won't offer any compensation, including NO WAY to free shipping, then I have no recourse but to complain on every blog I find. I am off to search for even more forums and blogs to post my complaint. _________________ JayBird |

| Be sure to tell your friends about your horror story. Save them the grief of dealing with Dell. Then they can tell their friends, and their friends. |

Julie:
You forgot to mention the one course of action that really means something......CANCEL YOUR ORDER WITH DELL.
I had the same experience last year....3 delays on my notebook order. To add insult to injury, after 30 days I get the automated call that if I still wanted my notebook I would have to call Dell to authorize an extension since the delay was longer than 3 days. Took me hours to reach Dell at which time I canceled my order.
I ended up buying an HP laptop at Office Depot for about $500 less than the comparable Dell unit. And although every computer company has its share of problems, I will say that HP is much easier to reach and the one problem that I did have (battery failed after 9 months) was resolved almost immediately.
It is sad that Dell is a shell of its former self. I will never buy a Dell product again and like you have gone out of my way to spread the word. It's like a marriage....if Dell couldn't care less about me and my business, I'm outta there. Too many other companies at least show a little respect. |

There's something people need to understand. DELL isn't a computer company. They make their money off the DELL Preferred Accounts and selling extended warranties and services. They just happen to sell computers in order to push that other crap. Much like how Microsoft is more about licensing and litigation than actual software.
HP actually makes it's living off of computers and servers and printers.
If DELL just focused on computers, they'd be long dead. Let's face it, they're not worth what they charge.
So, basically, DELL just wants your money and doesn't actually care what... if anything, you get in return.
Spread the word about your negative dealings with DELL. The more consumers that shop elsewhere, the better. Only the consumer can bring DELL down. Hit them in the wallet, that's the trick. _________________ "One man's garbage is another man's DELL." |

Dell was a computer company, back when they called themselves that. They had actual engineering and quality people, all of which has been offshored to halfass Chinese vendors.
Today, they are only a retailer, and a damn-halfass one of those, who, like you say, once they have your money don't care what the fark happens to you. Their attitude/motto is, there is no customer who can't be effectively stonewalled, transferred into oblivion, or just hung up on.
The answer is in the hands of the customer. Buy computer products and services from a storefront retailer. When you develop a problem, a storefront retailer will not lock you out of the building, as Dell effectively does. _________________ Rocke T Sinetist

Cancel your order right NOW! Do nothing and u will get a machine with ridiculous failure rates and overpriced. In all honesty, dhell is not into the whole RED thing to save people, it's just smoke screens to hide their true intentions to screw you out of your money.
dhell products = godiva covered shit. |
