To risk quoting Darth Vader... "

I would keep a cautious eye out there in Round Rock... as for my location, there was some movement/preparation for what seemed to reveal a possibility of more releases... So we will wait and see...

Anyone else sense anything near them or anyone else have any new information?

I give 4:1 odds of 1000 people on Thursday. Could be more.

It seems that the Hurricane Watch has expired. We may have to reissue it sometime next week, but as of this time I feel where I work is in the clear.

Is there anyone in Round Rock that may have some layoff reports? I am feeling customer service maybe in for a rough week next week or some major changes. Good luck to everyone in Round Rock. Cool

What is the forecast for Round Rock this week? Intheknow are you out there? Everyone is waiting to hear from you.

The information I have heard indicates possible changes this week around the customer service area. I have heard that the consumer side of things is really not the safest place to be right now, but of course any job at Dell within in the United States is not safe.

Good luck to everyone this week. Mr. Green

All,
Sorry to have reported incorrect information. This is the first time my source has been 'off'. They have indicated that perhaps the timing was off because of the extreme large number of people and the corresponding paperwork. They suggest that it is a LARGE layoff coming and HR couldnt process it all at once. The 'dry' runs they have made thus far have only been to activelly unemploy a few hundred at a time. Dell doesnt care if the layoffs occur EOQ or not. It is also reported that once these jobs have ended- they will NOT come back to the US. Texas will be hit the hardest. DHS is history and SMB will be cut by 25% or more.

I too had sources tell me the 25th was the day...

So if this new information is correct, what is the timing? This week, next week, next month? It is becoming harder and harder to focus, wondering if the next day will be my last... and I really hope its this week... but I have no information on the timing... Can I donate a printer to speed the process up... I am tired of the wondering...

I don't think it will be the 25th because May 25th is s Sunday but it will probably happen right in time to wish everyone a nice LONG Memorial Day weekend!

I heard that there were layoffs last week in Round Rock, but they were spotty with 20 here, 40 there. I will keep the board up-to-date of what I hear or notice in the area around me. If anyone else has layoff reports let us know.

I guess I should have clarified.. I meant along with "InTheKnow" my source was wrong - they said, that "if management wanted people off the books by end of quarter, it would have to be done by April 25th"... which the 25th came and went, end of quarter came and went, and nothing but spotty releases...
And now we hear ....

I know around my department HR was seen within the area. Now it is just a matter of how long it will take them to have the papers ready. I am thinking that their may be a meeting this week. I am purely speculating though and have no hardcore evidence of a meeting this week. If it happens I will make sure I update the board.

Start checking meeting room status in Outlook. When a whole bunch get booked solid and user info remains confidential, the storm will hit within a day or two after that.

As of right now it is quiet in Round Rock at the building I work at. I do not know if something will happen tomorrow or not. If any one has any predictions please let the board know. I will keep you up-to-date with what is happening where I work.
