I'd say starting would be B1 or high end A5.
B1 if you have A+ certification. |

Wouldn't level 1 non-XPS be A5? I'm pretty sure when I got moved to XPS, they said B1 was for XPS techs because they were "L2 level" so B1 |

Well there's your first mistake. You believed something they told you. But I think you are right I am pretty sure GTS techs are A5

GTS and/or XPS reps start at A5, but if they have A+ they start at B1. At least, that's the way it worked in Edmonton. A level 1 tech will start at A5 across the board, A+ or not. Though if you do have at least that going for you, you may end up at the top tier of A5 and not the entry level.
B2 is generally for Process Leads and *some* L2's/Escalations. B3 is typically L3. Then we get to Management level pay grades. |

At Ottawa, A+ for XPS was manditory... so maybe that's where my confusion was
Edit: That was before the ACI stuff though.... maybe it's changed, if it has.... owned? |

A+ was "mandatory" for XPS in Edmonton also, but there was a catch. If you were willing to take the training and then you get certified, they'd move you to a B1, though you'd start at A5.
IF you already had A+, you were B1 from the start.
EI 1 was the best line I've seen in weeks |

When I started at A01 in DoC my whole team was hired in as an A5. When I was promoted to GTS I became a B1. Those of my team that went to XPS in the change over stayed A5's regardless of getting there A+. Also acouple of friends of mine in GTS that where temps that got hired in where A5's even though they had ther certs. _________________ Ladies and gentlemen take my advice... If you or they had A+ and were still A5, you got worked. Screwed. Jobbed. Whatever you want to call it.
At least here, the pay switch was assured once certified or if already certified, though the actual delivery of it was generally a hassle and a half. |

Yeah upon completing A+ you got a bump in pay to the next paygrade. L1s to B1 and L2s to B2... ACI scored you an additional 1500 bucks. From an L2 perspective anyways...
By the end, most L2s were at/near 50k |

180 IQ, and working as a screwdriver jockey, eh? Right.
Mr. Ass has been escorted out of the forum for incivility. If you see his unique 'style' of writing pop up again, do let me know.
