wah wah wah all the way home....dont throw away 3 gs and call it ignorance. did their research? ha! thats laughable, and a 3g 420? wow it must have gold plated everything...guess what, sales people are sales people wherever you go, you know what their job is? your right! to sale! wowie wow, sales people have always been this way since oh i dont know, money was invented? i have legitimate gripes against dell and hate it but i hate ignorant people more...

Being less-than-fully informed is not a character flaw. And believing what marketing and salesmen say when asked a specific question isn't either.

You can inform them, gently and considerately, why and where they are mistaken. But throwing your nose in the air and saying "you're ignorant" is not civil, no matter how many other internet boards you see it done on. We're a little more restrained here.

I do not know what is going on with FA or some of the other posters in here. I thought this was a site to HELP people, INFORM people, not to belittle. I have seen this trend with some folks last couple of months. Belittle the customers, and it gives Dell a chance to say site defames. defame. Hmm, are you spouting Dell policies (people "in the know of things" Are you speaking for the company!!!??? We are supposed to be here to help, advise, vent, grieve, and pretty much anything except to beliitle people. This cust comes in and says what happened to them as an info expirience, and you guys just jump on the bashing wagon. WE ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP PEOPLE, NOT BELITTLE THEM. Makes me think there are some corp folks placed . Give site bad name go away. I want to help and inform, but if you guys keep at it, there will soon be no one. Just because you are all "IT knowledgeable" You have said some incorrect things in the past, and I have held my tongue, but no more! On your "Oh, everyone should know that" stuff does not mean most consumer, and most sales agents. Hell, did you have the great IT God impress the knowledge to you without dealing with it and learning? Heck it is here that we spread the knowledge!! I think you must have been in the field too long to be callused. This is a FORUM!! You have to take it as a they say/he say thing. I am just getting tired of the belittling of people coming in here to talk about things, and some people ripping in. It makes me sad, because this is not the site that it use to be. People were helpful, and walking folks thru the mistakes and giving advice, and geneualy wanting to help, or give a symp ear. And helping to correct issue. If it has changed let me know......I check in all the time to try to help people. I would like to know if this is bashing so I can spend my time elsewhere.

You have no idea how hard it is for me not to rip this up, and go all the way to full out postal flaming...

In the interest of fairness, I don't belittle anyone. I'm simply pointing out that there are generally two sides to each story and we can't report just one.

I don't actively pursue a career in coming to forums to participate in a Dell "love in", because as 95% of my posts would attest to, no one hates them more than I do. At the same time I don't actively pursue posters I can thrash and beat up on at will. Not my style.

My posts have reasons that are known to me. I'm sorry if you view it as belittling people. That's on you, and not my concern.

If you only knew how many times I have personally helped contributors to the forums, you'd be singing a different tune. I'm not talking about simple posting commentary, I'm referring to actual off air assistance with them one on one. I find it funny that in the process of admonishing "bashing", you would see fit to lay down some thunder and bashing yourself.

But you know, it is what it is. I don't feel compelled to defend myself any longer.

I have seen your post in past, they have been good. But lately, they seem inflamed. Tone not been very well. Hmm, calling someone a moron?? This is the last post I will do on this particular subject, because I do not want to distract what this website and forum is here for.You may have your reasons, and that is to be sure. I do not want to know the details. You probably are justified in your own mind and expirience. But instead of calling someone a moron, why don't we give good advice without calling anyone names?? Iam not a Dell Love in!! I just want to help people see better reasoning and possible resolution

Gentlemen:

The official tone here is one of cordiality. I've explained this several times on several occasions, but it does not seem to have registered, so I'll try one more time.

You are required to use editorial and social restraint in addressing co-members. We allow you to use demeaning terms, even expletives (conservatively, for emphasis) addressing issues and policies and people within Dell who are widely disliked and who are not here.

Consider that here, you are addressing friends to their face. You may explain, gently and emphathetically, where they are mistaken and what they overlooked. Do NOT employ constructions such as "you should have read....", "you should have known.....", "only a moron would....".

This issue is trying my patience. I don't get paid, or even recognized, for the hours of work I do here every day. The above are not hard concepts to grasp, and you people are not intellectually disabled. It therefor appears to me that you are making little effort to observe the standard of tone that this board requires as a condition of use.

This is not a threat, it is simply a fact. If I were otherwise occupied at the time, and still responsible for the tone of this board, this issue would have been dealt with after the second occurence by suspending the account of the person who was not complying with the terms of use.

As it is, I have time to explain this over and over, hoping at some point it will 'take'. My function here is to make this site pleasant for everyone, not to terminate users unless as a last resort. Please don't make it this hard for me. Between the constant spam, the oversubscribed server, and spending time straightening out stuff like this, I'm this >|< close to throwing up my hands and saying 'do any damn thing you want'. Most of our mods have already done that.

Actually Cam, Rend was the one who used that phrase, not me. I do what I can to avoid labels. I'm sure you meant to lash out at Rend (the perpetrator) and not me, so it's all good. Just an oversight on your part Wink

Inflamed is a good way to look at recent posts too. I've made back alley deals to handle that in the future so rest easy. It's all good. I respect you for speaking up.

i dont know anything about cars or boats, but guess what, i asked friends, different dealers, did my research, asked questions, used google, family, consumer reports, all these resources to DO MY RESEARCH, and bought and love what i did! a good consumer does this and if they feel they are being treated bad or dont like the situation, dont buy, return product, and go to a competitor....plain and simple...deal with it haters....

Rend, what I am telling you--and this is unilateral and unequivocal--is that just because YOU are 'the perfect consumer' doesn't give you the right HERE to demean anybody, for what they believed, correctly or not, did do, or didn't do.

Let me make this even clearer. As the only active moderator here, I am overloaded. I don't have the time to explain it over and over again.

As of now, any beginning poster here gets two warnings as to the appropriateness of the tone of their content, after which their account will be summarily blocked.
