In case any of you are still doing business with Dell Financial Services / Dell Business Credit please be aware of a wonderful new system they've implemented to verify your credit worthyness and adjust your account accordingly.

DFS / DBC now checks your company against Dunn and Bradstreet (DNB.COM/US) every time* you attempt to use your account.

If there are any irregularities in your account (such as not being in the Dunn and Bradstreet database, as I was) your credit limit will be immediately reduced to $0 and you will not have the ability to use your account for upwards of 90 days (assuming you can get to the root of your problem, which I did) and if Dell feels gracious enough to re-extend you credit (at 29%) after that amount of time.

I only know this because my account was updated to show my lack of credit worthyness (read: lack of entry in the Dunn and Bradstreet database) at the same exact time I had my sales agent try and process my latest order.

Mind you, I thought the credit limit they gave me was a little excessive based on my inital request but to go from 5 digits to 0 based solely on what two computers said to eachother is a little too rediculous.

The final capper was when no one was willing to work with me to get to the bottom of the issue and resolve it.

If 8 complete workstations, 3 servers, 2 large flat panel monitors, a laptop and a color laser printer aren't enough business for a one man shop to throw at them in a year then I'm going to have to find another vendor.

Any suggestions other than HP?

Thanks for your time.

-Doc

*Dell says they only check every 90 days. The evidence says otherwise.
