"What is Dell Hell?" you may ask. It is a realm in which a customer supposes that just one more email or telephone call will persuade Dell to stand behind its products. Our ministry used to buy computer equipment almost exclusively from Dell. Now we plan to shop almost anywhere but.

Visiting www.badbusiness.bureau.com and entering, "Dell" into the search engine yields nearly 700 complaints! Maybe they need more.

Unfortunately this once-fine company is relaying customer service calls to foreign telephone representatives who neither speak nor understand English very well. The consequence, once callers get past lots of hold time, is tiresome repeating and clarifying. Even worse, their protocols, seem to be contrived to avoid actually servicing or replacing equipment in accordance with Dell's warranties and service policies.

It is a sign of the times when such a large, successful corporation will so flagrantly trash its goodwill with customers in an apparent grab for short-term profits.

you can say that again! the technical people cant even pronounce the words " tag " and "back" clearly!
once asked for assistance and they asked for the "back "no?
only realised they are asking for the "tag" no . . . lol.

The site you referred to is now gone. Makes one wonder if Dell muscles the people who put up anti Dell sites?

At first, it 'seemed' such. It has since been demonstrated to be way beyond 'seem'. More like, 'connived'.

As long as there are still rubes walking around throwing away their money, and as long as Dell can keep convincing said rubes that every issue they have is software related - Dell will just keep adhering to their practice of failing to replace faulty parts when reported.

Replacing failed parts is just bad business if you can convince them that it's software related instead. If there's one thing that is universal, it's that there will never be a shortage of rubes.

I pulled that nugget from the old HBO series, Carnivale. It made sense in that show, as it does here too.

Dell is just one huge carnival. Though it doesn't need to travel from city to city by caravan in the middle of the night, the premise is unchanged. PT Barnum mentioned "there's a sucker born every minute", and he was dead on. Dell knows this too.

They're little more than a next-gen travelling road show. As long as there's rubes to buy their half assed carny goods, then they'll always make some kind of money. If the teat runs dry, make a new one, don't bother looking for one. Just fabricate one and tell the people they need it.

The rubes will buy-in each and every time. Without fail and without question.
