|
| I have heard through the grapevine that Dell will be closing its consumer sales in Round Rock for good at the end of January. Has anyone heard anything about this, supposidly they are moving us from building 1 to building 2, but I have heard that we will not be going to building 2 that is the day we are to be severenced out. Any info on this? |

| I don't know about Round Rock but I do know about OKC.. They closed OKC CONSUMER SALES yesterday.. I am in Sales... well no longer with Dell. I feel soooo bad for everyone that I knew that just lost their jobs yesterday... all they are saying is they are re-aligning to better serve the customer.. LOL UH HELLOOOO what about all those employees that worked their butts off 4th QTR.. and what about that Cozumel trip that was promised. I know one person personally that worked OT every evening and weekend. And they raised the damn matrix bar so high.. that it's almost impossible to reach the 4x with those damn $399 boxes! |

For as long as I can remember, DHell has been setting sales reps up for failure. I was hired on in September of 2002 and the site where I worked closed down in August of last year. During sales orientation, back in September 2002, I remember quite well what our HR generalist at the time said about the sales goals when questioned about it. She said that 70-80 percent of sales reps make their goals without a problem. Turns out that the actual number was below 30 percent and those that did had to fight and claw their way to get it. Same with the Q4 "trip." The senior management team would get everyone fired up about it and the only ones who got to go were the ones who worked bell-to-bell everyday, with no days off, for the entire quarter. I'm sorry, but no one-week trip is worth that! I got so tired of sales that I transferred to returns the first chance I got. Sure I made less money, but I had weekends off to spend with my family, and didn't have my manager breathing down my neck, badgering me why I didn't sell service on a POS $299 desktop (back when I was in sales, they had a $299 unit for a while that was advertised to no end). You're better off not working for DHell; I know I'm a lot happier since I left. _________________ Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia. |
