|
|
| In 2007, I purchased a Dell Latitude. I had the Vista system and it was terrible and the computer never performed properly and I exchanged it to have Windows XP installed. The problems continued when the computer was slow and crashed all the time. In December 2007, I began to contact Dell technical support, for about two months I was everyday on the phone with techs for an average from 2-4 hours a day. I had to deal with techs that could not speak properly English not really understanding my issues. Then I had techs working here in the US and everyday different techs worked on my computer making it worse. Finally Dell agreed to replace the memory and the hard drive. It still did not solve the issue and I received a $300 phone bill in December due to exceeding my minutes on my cell. In January the daily calls with Dell continued amounting to a phone bill of $650 this time. I run a small electrical company and even lost customers due to the computer problems. I asked Dell if they would reimburse me for my phone bills since their non English speaking incompetent at times rude techs performance. Del declined. I have never experiemced customer service that low. Dell is the perfect example what outsourcing and sending our jobs overseas does. Hard drives made in China, memories made in the Phillippines and cusomer agents in India and Mexico. You be the judge. Never again Hell. I am going to replace all my Dell's this year with other products and will not endorse Dell to customers nor within the business community. |

On the offchance that you have to call support again, you may want to just call after 9pm when you get the free minutes. THat should help with the phone bills.
Also, if the PC is working, or if you have another pc that works, i would suggest the Dell chat:
http://support.dell.com/chat
The chat eliminates the language barrier, provided you can type reasonably well and get your point across. |

That's something I never understood from these cheap bastards (Dell customers). Why on earth do they spend more money in phone bills calling Dell rather than taking their pc/laptop to a local store
It would be cheaper...
I mean, if you are calling Hell and they don't give a f*ck about your problem, stop wasting money. _________________ I see DELL people!!

at people who expect Dell to reimburse them for their phone bill, good luck with that. at people trying to get away with stuff that is not covered by the warranty. |

Dell 's at customers who expect the warranty to be fulfilled readily, without a lot of determination and persistent effort. _________________ Rocke T Sinetist

I hope never to have to telephone them again. I do need a computer that can handle my photographic projects and I would like for the one I paid a lot of money to own worked. But I am not optimistc.
Mark Twain talked about cancelling all other recreation to attend the funeral of a crook who sold him a plug horse. Maybe, I will outlive Michael Dell.

No offence, but anyone that would spend that kind of money on a cell phone bill to speak with Dell, instead of paying $0.00 at a payphone for a TOLL FREE call...I'm baffled.
Or you had no friends who would let you use their phone? If you have an electrical outfit, you mean that you don't have a land line?
Seriously, no company is going to pay to foot your cell phone bill. I've had some customers try that with me too while I was shackled to the phones. I just told them if they could validate that there was no payphones in their area we'd look into it. They hated that.
Still beats asking each of them why they have no friends to ask. |

Tellem come use mine. I have 2000 rollover minutes. I don't use it much, it's so fatiguing trying to understand people over a cell, and holding a flat piece of plastic up to your ear hurts after a while. Notice that Star Trek never used their communicators for longer than 30 seconds, and you didn't have to hold those upside your head. _________________ Rocke T Sinetist
