I called customer support and they didn't know what was wrong.. I had to figure it out by myself.. and I called back after my troubleshooting and told them my motherboard was going out, and they informed me my warranty had just expired.

I HATE DELL!

Isn't the minimum warranty still 12 months? You should be able to log on to Dell (with a working system) and look up your system's service tag to confirm its warranty status.

I was thinkin the same thing, but I do remember seeing something about a limited 90 day warranty which would equal 3 months.

Last I heard, most of the industry was at 1 year and Dell switched from 90 days (about this time last year) to keep from looking like scrooge. But the change was made quietly, cuz it would piss off the customers who only got 90 days standard right before the change.

Another change might have happened. It would have been made quietly too but should have come up here before now. The poster doesn't say when this happened, just that it did. And it's a story we've heard a zillion times, "they told me my warranty just expired" no matter how long the warranty was.

Hey, the gizmo has a clock. It knows exactly when the warranty expires, and it fails a month after that. The Freemasons designed it that way. Dell is Jewish, and can't be a Freemason? HAH! That's just what they WANT you to think!

Dell hasn't offered a 90 day warranty in years.

Motherboards fry. It's a fact of life. I ordered an MSI board that fried within 15 days. An RMA got me a new one. No problems since. Stuff happens.

90 day warranties are usually reserved for refurb parts and systems. I take it yours was a refurb?

A 90 day option was available in the past and some ebay resellers loved to order with this option to appear cheaper ...

However, Dell got completely away from that with the exception of refurb parts as already mentioned by the posts before.

Did you buy the system(s) new or used/pre-owned?

That is what everyone tells me, including, I think, someone from Dell; but my system went down after only two years and I spent a lot of money for it. The technicians just seemed not to consider that the mother board failed.
