I am having trouble with my Operations Supervisor. Is there anyone higher I can go to to get something done?

He threatened my job for asking a simple question (a question I had every right to ask).

I don't know what kind of question you can ask that would threaten your job, but you can call human resources and i'm sure they can point you in the right direction. The number's on the front page of the CSR portal.

Thanks for the tip.

To be honest I can't talk about what happened in a public forum. I'm sure Qualxserv monitors this website but trust me, he did threaten my job. It was an honest question that I asked and he totally overreacted. I'll be contacting HR later today.

Anyone else have any problems with their Operations Manager?

I have also had similar troubles with my ROS for a couple of years now. Is his name Peter?

My ROS basically has lied to me or at very least been less than forthright with me on numerous occasions. Too many to list here really. One example was when I as told that I had 2 weeks to get a car and be assignable after having a car accident on the job. Then 2 months later I reach the point that I am not getting as many calls because QXS outsourced my area to a sub contractor for 30 per call and no mileage reimbursement.

So as a result I am barely making enough money to pay for the car that I was basically pressured into purchasing to keep that shitty job anyways. Leaving me in a pinch financially to pay for the new car that I bought to "save my job". My other car was going to be in the shop for a few weeks while I waited on parts and repairs. Otherwise, I could have just taken my money and invested it into my car that only had damaged suspension and would be ready in a few weeks. We're talking about an extra week grace period that they wouldn't allow me to fix my car that I wrecked on the job.

I feel that when I was in an accident while on the job and I only had 2 weeks to get back on the road that it was unfair to me after I had worked for them for 3 years scoring 100% CE for 6 full quarters. Yet QXS doesn't mind leaving me high and dry for months while they try to find someone to do it for cheaper. I realize that it is up to me to get to work every day but they don't offer much incentive to using your own vehicle day in and day out. I put 40,000 miles on my car the first year as a "part time"(i.e. no benefits, no bonuses, no-t really a job) For what really? "So Lumberg's stock can go up another quarter of a percent."

They don't care about their employees and it shows a little more each and every year. More like they have complete and utter contempt for their employees. I am presently not laid off(yet), not fired(yet) but I am somehow still on the payroll, making zero every week.

That's just one of many stories, mostly after I was a assigned my new and present ROS(douche-bag).

Wow!

Is there anyone higher up you can speak with about this? I had a nice little discussion with my ROS and he threatened to fire me for asking for more calls in my territory. I've been a good, loyal employee for the last 2 years and this is the thanks that I get? It's ridiculous!

What about Banctec or Unisys?

I have heard that Banctec and Unisys aren't much better when it comes to taking Dell service calls. I am actually starting to work with Unisys next month for a 6 month contract as a Linux/Unix Sys Admin. That seems to be the only REAL money without endless hours behind a wheel. QXS and the like are just there to help techs get some extra training and experience. It sure isn't the way to make any REAL money..... That was pretty funny what you said about reporting my ROS to a higher up! HAAAAA!!!!! Wink

Heh.. the quickest way to find out what volume is really like.. ask the folks behind the counter at DHL how many boxes they're going through... that's usually a pretty good indicator.

I agree that is a good way to find out call volume. Having setup our local PMB I know who signs for what, how many parts come in, etc. that is how I found out about them hiring subcontractors for less money. Usually in a week there will be about 30-50 parts come in and more and more of them are being signed for by the sub.

First off, if you post about an employer like qualxserv, you better be going through a proxy server. The dicks at qual don't like criticism. If they get pissed enough, they might grab Grissom with some kind of lawsuit and try and get your ip. But they don't really need that. They have all of you by the balls. They sling the politics and could care less about you. In fact, they'd rather you take a couple of calls and then leave the company so they can hire some other snot nosed kid who will work for $8 an hour. I've only heard of one good manager in the whole company, and they've squashed him so he can't do anything decent. Leave when you can find a new job and find a boss when human decency. The dicks at qual aren't even human. I have a feeling that's exactly the kind of company Dell likes to do business with.

First off all you are like the preacher singing to the choir here about how management at QXS sucks. Secondly, when you say they will sue somebody. I say they can FUCK RIGHT OFF, bring it on.... I got what I wanted from QXS and now it has come to and end. I am only here to help educate others on my experience with the company. Nothing slanderous, just the facts..... if I had read this forum first before being hired I would have know what to look out for. Like I have heard it said before: Get the free training and experience and leave 'em as fast as you can. They are a sinking ship anyways.... I don't even get any more calls, haven't in months. Yet I am supposed to drive 100 miles to take a drug screen? Oh, gee can I? Let's see how many leave or will be let go because of that new policy that started a week ago. Just what they want probably.Smile You would have to be on something to take this job in the first place!(i.e. unemployment, food stamps....)

You have had trouble with Mr Snuffalafugus?? LOL! Yep it is rather hard to talk about managers on here since some of them no doubt scan the posts. What ever problems booyah is having with his/her ROS I would say it has to depend on your situation...where you are located...how many techs there are to take up your calls if you were fired. If you are getting 5 or more calls a day and are a OSP they would be hard pressed to replace you in less than a month. Think about it. Who in their right mind would take on a job where you will drive 200+ miles a day and pay for your own gas at $3 a gal?? My ROS gave me a warning over an email I sent. I figure if you want to fire me go ahead but that would leave you with 2 temp contractors and NO QSPs. And then I can go get a job at Home Depot. I spend enough time & money there. may as well work there! LOL!

"You have had trouble with Mr Snuffalafugus??"

HAAAAAAA!!!!!! Too damn funny! Maybe it is his MA accent? HAA!!!HAA!!!!! ROFL!!!! Truly the funniest thing that I have heard all day! Maybe this post is why I have been "fired" now? Like I give a shit about their no-pay job anyways! I had to ask them if I was still an employee, they couldn't even call me to let me know..... like it really mattered. "Mr Snuffalafugus" HAAAAAA!!!!!!!
