Heard that Dell will move to an annual review cycle versus bi-annual. They will not do formal mid year reviews, just rate folks. The b3 and below will get their ICP this time, but no raises or promos. Cost savings- I guess. By now, we would have to have done our self assessment- which by the way is a joke- those are just so management can copy and paste. Funny when we have to write in 3rd person, at least we know what to expect.

The spin was that it saves manager's time, they don't have to do a full rank and review for the couple of people who might get a midyear.

The entire process is a joke, with divisions not grading on your actual performance, but on how many "exceeds" you are allowed to give. For example, our entire site was "allowed" to give out 4 "exceeds" ratings for the entire site. It starts with 10 or so, then we were forced to come up with "reasons" to not give outstanding reviews to outstanding performers, so we could fit the curve.

I personally told my managers what was going on, and ENCOURAGED them to write their own review. It was such an excersise in futility, I found the only benefit was teaching people how to effectively write self assessments.

So this fabled meritocracy that they preach almost daily has hard caps, and manufactured excuses?

Well ain't that bloody convenient? So maybe they should stop using that word, and replace it with something more suitable - like politics and gray area bullshit?

Someone merits an EP rank but will find that he or she has been handed manufactured excuses for a lower rating? That is disgusting in ways that I can never fully express. So it looks like integrity, another of Dell's cornerstones can also be easily replaced by lack-of-integrity, or non-existent-integrity.

Shady accounting. No meritocracy. No integrity. This company is a victim of its own ineptitude and two left feet.

Their employee reviews are a farse!! They can tell you anything and if you contest the review, your gone, eventually.. They would tell me one thing one time, the next review would totally be different and I'd bring up what was mentioned in my last review and they would say it wasn't so and smile while feeding me bunch of bullshit. I told them that I'm not dumb for real? That pissed them off to no end. Surprised

I suppose that saying that you can't remember a lie, well it's true. I suppose that DHell thinks not or they think we employees are stupid and dumb in that aspect. NOT!!!

The hardest thing about a lie is, trying to remember what lie you told and to whom you told it to.
