Dell Roseburg is Closed down. All were laid off in Sales, SRS, Tech and Electronics and Acc. More information to follow as it comes in.

Great news people today they took us all in a room, told us the news, lots of angry crazy people, threw $4000+ dollars at us + 1 week for every year + our current pay check and told get out.

Well FUCK you Michael Dell.

Over the past 3 years ive recorded conversations from managers, coaches, ASM's and JOE Van DAMN and will soon be releasing these for people to listen to.

FUCK you Michael Dell.

Sorry about the sudden disruption in your life, I know exactly how that feels (May 2001, "the big one").

No need to apologize for cursing MD. There are people who do it in much stronger terms, such that he spends on the order of $150,000 a year on security guards and systems at his house.

Is Roseburg part of the Tennessee installation? Those of us in Austin/RR don't know these things.

Please post updates to the 'News' section, there's already a thread started, so that everyone can follow.

Ain't Roseburg where they had that debacle over pay just recently? I'm pretty sure that was the name thrown about in the press and here, and in the media.

If so, this turn of events hardly surprises me. Sucks that everyone was let go, but I'm told when you make waves, someone's gonna spill the boat. I guess it was easier to just dump the lot of them instead of facing up to the shame.

Was it Roseburg?

Yea then this sounds like that line from Shakespeare, "Methinks thou doth protest too much".

Dell denying that this had anything to do with the lawsuit, is just their way of admitting to everyone that this is exactly what caused the shutdown.

They shoulda just said, "No comment" if they were asked about it. At least that still has some small amount of feasibility to it.

I think that the roseburg dell employees should contact big news corporations and let them know what dell is doing/did! Other american consumers and employees (past/future) should know what kind of a corporation that they are supporting and working for. Of coure "Dell" is trying to make any excuse for their reasoning on closing this site in Roseburg. Pretty CHICKEN SHIT MICHEAL DELL. I dont really believe in karma, but in special cases I hope this one comes back to bite you in the ass or should I say wallet. You have robbed our state, community and families. I HOPE DELL GOES UNDER FOR GOOD! One city/state at a time. Let THE BURG BE THE FIRST!

P.S. You cant tell me that management didnt know about this, how come some of them are relocating to RR and OK. By the way good job for the sales reps who just trained in El Salvador. Did you know those people you were training were replacing you?

Any time you send people to uptrain some other site, you should always ask yourself if you're training your replacements.

Of course, your Management will deny it, right up until the time you're handed your pink slip.

No kidding...I cant believe it.You cant tell me that the roseburg site wasnt headed for this. I worked there summer of last year when they did away with spherion and they planned on filling the cubicals. In February the lawsuit was brought forward. NOW there is no jobs and Dell is downsizing. DELL has no moral values. Like I have heard over and over, its not that they fired all the employees or closed the site its the fact they did it without a moments notice.

Eric, My Man! How are you?!?!?!?!? I was so bummed when I didnt get your phone number or email address. This all happened so quick. Please IM me your info, so we can stay in touch!

You know what really sucks. I just had a meeting with some of the senior staff, about the tech team, and provided tons of documentation about who works and who does not. I wont mention any names, but there are many reps that will say "NO" when asked for help, because they have a case they're dealing with or its close to a break or lunch. And even more funny, your little secretary always played online games, scribbled with crayons and played around. She was absolutely useless to the team.

So I am gonna be blunt, I dont give a shit. The only techs that were worth anything were YOU, roger and Jay. The others were condescending, ignorant, and thought they knew everything. There were about 15 of us reps that were preparing a letter to send to corporate about the issue, because I think its bulshit that the other techs just do whatever they want, whenever they want, and the secretary is as useless as a tit on a bull - unless of course she has a crayola and is doing a color the bunny page.

Curtis was a good manager, but every time we talked to him about this issue, he would get defensive. Anyway, I would LOVE to stay in contact with you,, and even willing to pay to have you help me with my computer. I want to Linux. I will send you a PM and well go from there.

Eric, you are a great person, and your spirit is genuine. Its too bad that you got fucked by the politics.
