My employer has replaced all of the PCs in my department with new Optiplex 740s that have the AMD Athlon 64. I gotta admit, it sure runs quieter than my previous Optiplex GX 240, and the Athlon just KICKS ASS when I compile .Net programs in comparison.
As long as they pay for it and support it, I'll use whatever they put on my desktop. |

| agreed, although the Core2Duo chips are wiping the floor with them in most of the other benchmarks for multi-threaded apps. |

| Pretty much anything is a huge upgrade from an Optiplex GX240. |
