Was given this by a current Dell employee. I thought it was humourous.

please remove me from this distribution list.

I'm not gay, and I don’t feel this company should be promoting special events for those who have

have an obscure sexual orientation when the majority of us do not.

why is there not "Heterosexual Pride Week"?

why don’t we have "Proud White Guy Week"?

this quite honestly is offensive to me and many other Dell employees and is against my religious

beliefs. not to mention, it's a political agenda that has no place in the workplace.

It doesn't bother me that I have gay co-workers, but it does bother me that something this private

is corporatized as something we're all supposed to participate in.

George Takei: Film/TV Actor and Civic Leader

George Takei, best known for his portrayal of Mr. Sulu in the acclaimed television and film series Star Trek, has more than 30 feature films and hundreds of television guest-starring roles to his credit.

Recognized worldwide as a member of the original Star Trek cast, George received a star on Hollywood Boulevard's Walk of Fame in 1986 and he placed his signature and hand print in the forecourt of the landmark Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood in 1991. After graduating from Los Angeles High School, George enrolled in the University of California at Berkeley. Later, he transferred to the University of California at Los Angeles, where he received a bachelor of arts in theater in 1960 and a master of arts in theater in 1964. He attended the Shakespeare Institute at Stratford-Upon-Avon in England and Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. In Hollywood, he studied acting at the Desilu Workshop.

George is a recurring character on NBC-TV's Heroes, playing Kaito Nakamura, the father of time-traveler Hiro Nakamura (Golden Globe nominee Masi Oka). George's first episode aired on Jan. 29, 2007.

A member of the Human Rights Campaign, the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender political organization, George is a spokesman for HRC's Coming Out Project. In April 2006, he embarked on a nationwide speaking tour called "Equality Trek" in which he talked about his life as a gay Japanese American. In 2004 and early 2005, he served on the Independent Task Force on Television Measurement, a 19-member body chaired by former Congresswoman Cardiss Collins that made recommendations on how the Nielsen ratings service can more accurately measure diverse television audiences including people of color

Yeah, there's a few people who are going to get 'Diversity Training' added to their Performance Plan. That and ' Getting a Clue about Email' for posting to the entire Product Group.

Don't think he'll be having any more Performance Plans and any training may be from TWC after he gets booted out the door!

Yes - Adam was terminated. Dell reason for termination: "inappropriate use of IT resources"

www.coveyville.org

As I personally disagree with Adam's delivery of his message, his comments and questions have merit and need to be answered by Dell.

If Dell is diverse, why not proud white guy month, why not heterosexual month?

I figure Dell is about to get in the spotlight with the media over this topic. If you are a person of faith - most say homosexuality is wrong.

Shoving gay pride month to over 8000 people via email spam is not being diverse to those who agree homosexuality is wrong.

I'd like to see an official response from Dell over this topic. Dell has a nasty situation on their hands.

Isnt diversity about acceptance and respect? ....in this case, doesnt Dell think an individual who isnt gay can have an opinion about it and respect the fact that he or she doesnt want to be on a mailing list Evil or Very Mad , just as the gay person does? Seems like a one way street to me. My Question is: Dell practices diversity for who?

I believe this is a huge Civil Rights violation and I am appauled by this. This is coming from someone who has gay friends , but where does sexuality belong in the workplace, anyway? I cant believe and dont know of any organization that would support passing that kind of literature throughout company email, as it is not within the scope of company business... period.

Where is a legal person that can help on this issue? I feel badly for his family who is suffering due to an unfair "resolution" of a workplace problem. Id love to hear some of the conservative media folks bring this to the attention of Dells consumers.

I'd be interested in this myself. It appears not to Caucasian heterosexual Christians. lol

I'd bet he has a decent chance in court to get a few dollars.

If we celebrate something practiced by a few, it's called "Diversity" and "Inclusiveness". I have no problem with this. But....

If we celebrate something practiced by a majority, it's called homophobic / racist / sexist / etc., narrow-minded bigoted hate-speech. I DO have a problem with that!

Adam was good people, and will be a big loss to the company. He is not a homophobe. I don't know why he vented the way he did, but maybe he was planning to leave anyway and wanted to make a grand exit. If so, it certainly worked!

In contrast, Robert Clement (Adam's manager, per his e-mail) is STILL a goofy, lying, sack-of-shit weasel asshole after all these years (in other words, the perfect representation of Dell lower management!). He just couldn't get back from Bangalore*** fast enough to see Adam escorted to the door.

I think based on his email their was absolutley nothing wrong with the way he expressed himself. He was honest. Just as the coordinator of the group was and was trying to say, "this is so offensive to me and let me explain how offensive "I think if he was a black man that disagreed with the email he would have expressed himself by saying " Why isnt there proud blackmans day?"

I dont know what his plans are, but I will be emailing every conservative group I can about this just because theyll listen and everyone in my address book about Dells "diversity" bs. Grassroots goes a long way. Id still like to know if anyone knows a good lawyer?

Ahh Robert Clement. Previously a manager at Luby's Restaurant before being hired by Dell, thanks to his brother in law John Thompson (who happens to be good buddies with Jeff Clarke). Robert Clement even worked under John Thompson for a couple of years at Dell (can you say nepotism). John Thompson is no better if not worse than Robert Clement. He was once in charge of the electrical desktop lab, electrical portable lab, and the hardware libraries. He screwed up that job so bad that he was "demoted" to a first line manager in regulatory. Can you say --cough--cough--- "meritocracy".

Dell is so ponderously predictable. That's probably why HP stock is going up, they look at what Dell does and do the opposite.

For sure, the 'diversity' thing is a smokescreen. The root of it is probably that they got successfully sued once over a gay getting fired.

Guess what, 'special people' with your own month. #1, you're telling me that there are only 11 other minorities as important as you are? Pardon my French, but STFU!

#2, you'll be escorted out in the layoffs right alongside everyone else.

For the record, I am gay and I don't think 'gay pride' has any business whatsoever in the workplace. It assaults MY sensibilities!
