|
|
I know my manager will read this and that's ok, I just want everyone to know the situation.
I had a visit with a military recruiting officer on a day I was supposed to work, and I called to let my leads know this. I was told by the recruiter not to worry because it was official government business and I could not be fired or disciplined for it.
I get a call today from my manager wanting to cut my hours. Now I will admit that due to a series of unfortunate and unavoidable events, I was late to work a few times during the past month. However, up to this point none of these ever warranted any action, and I had heard nothing of it. After this visit I get a call saying that I didn't make it to work and that my hours were going to be cut. This being a DIRECT result of missing work to visit the military recruiter. I hope this isn't an issue that he is wanting to pursue, because I have talked to the military recruiter and asked him what I should do about this and was told that if I wanted to, I can have the U.S. military formally request the disciplinary action in writing and have it sent to the legal reps for the military. They in turn will be sending a letter stating that my discipline be reversed of a lawsuite would insue. Now I was told by my manager that he did not want to get the Austin people involved so he was taking it upon himself to do this.
I hope someone at dell reads this and sees what is happeneing, because this particular T.L. has done many things that have been questionable, including lesser action for people of greater offense, which is discrimination. This may be taking it too far if he wants to keep his job.
Sorry for the long rant but hopefully someone here will read this and maybe someone offer some advice as to how to go about this, because as of now my T.L. is violating Federal Law. |

| Make sure that what the recruiter is saying is actually true. He may have lied just to get you to talk to him - recruiters love to do that kind of stuff. |

Yeah, be careful, it's in the recruiter's best interest that you get fired.
Then he's got a better position to get you to sign on.
And if you think Dell is bad... |

Hey - look at the bright side - at least in the military your enemy dresses differently so you know who's gonna try to fuck you up. Ever wonder why management gave out those cheezy mirrors with Your Actions Shape Our Future? That's so you can see which brown-nosing useless tool is stabbing you in the back. That's the only way you know who's gunning for you.
I vote for the military and ask your manager if he wants to runn across the range yelling Bin Laden for President |
