Dell complaints

Just wanted to vent my feelings about Dell being cheap enough to only put one lousy fan on my Inspiron 4150 laptop.. I am in the opinion that they could have afforded two, or at least one good one.

Now - it does not seem like they could afford that, so I am stuck with a computer that boils over as soon as I try to run two processes at once.

Anyways - I have found a solution! I bet it is better than what Dell can come up with at least:) I have filled a 2 liter milk bottle with cold water and put my computer on top of it to cool it down:) I sent a picture of it to a friend of mine and he was laughing his ass off!!

I know one thing for certain - I am never buying anything from Dell any more. This is the most ridiculous computer I have ever seen! I'm joining the club - I HATE DELL!!!!!!!

I would advice against using anything that could get condensation into the vents of the fan - the air intake is on the bottom, and you wouldnt want even the tinyest drop of moisture to get into that machine.

Also, you may just have a failing fan, or fan controller module. Or a dirty heatsink is possible too... if you've got lint and pethair and crap all caught up into the heatsink, it's not going to work very effectively.

Hey!

Thanks for the advice - I'm aware of it:) I'm just using the bottle of water to cool down the bottom of the computer - directly under the processor. No water anywhere near the fan. This stuff actually works - incredible what a little bit of stone age thinking can do:)

Anyways - i'm going to buy a cooling pad, clean out the fan and buy some extra memory in about a month's time. Suppose that will improve the situation.

But this does not change the fact that I hate dell and that I really really want to kill my laptop and do evil things to it.

Thanks for the help - I'll have a friend of mine pull this rubbish laptop apart when I go home in a month's time and clean it properly:) I'm sure that will make this thing work better:) I won't stop hating dell for this though;)

I have decided that I will buy a new computer when I can afford it (..not a dell obviously).

When I get a hold of a new computer, I am going to do as many evil things to this computer as possible while filming it. Like pour Coke over it and put sand in the keyboard, submerge it in water while turned on, see how far I can throw it, jump on it, play baseball with the CD-ROM, blow it up etc... but my imagination stops here..

Any suggestions?

hehe - I must say that sounds nice, but where am i supposed to get a hold of thermite?!

There's a lot of things i would like to do, but I don't have the right connections it seems.. If I could get a hold of some weapons grade plutonium, I'd find a nice way to get rid of this thing (...maybe also the dell HQ while I'm at it:)

Maybe good old petrol will do the trick;)

Hehe - that's also a possibility:)

A friend of mine suggested that I should uninstall the firewall and then start browsing porn websites;) Thought that was a good one before I start physically destroying the bastard dell:)
