Rocke:
I have a home built Pentium 166 that has a power supply that's dying. The local store where I got its innards has long since gone belly up, and so have many nearby "Mom & Pop" PC stores recently.
Any suggestions on where I can get a NEW replacement power supply for an AT motherboard? |

Dang. Sorry Linc. I have no exposure to the replacement parts market. I'm pretty sure nothing currently made will work, standards have changed, current boards don't use -5V like old ones do. I'd bet that somebody has a stock of rebuilt AT supplies ('new' would be questionable, capacitors don't like sitting on a shelf for 15 years without being operated). Not a clue who though. _________________ Rocke T Sinetist

you could aslo build your own power supply. Here's a schematic for the output voltages of an AT power supply:

I'll see if I can come up with a schematic for an easy to build AT power supply. _________________ "The art of Engineering is knowing what you can safely ignore." -Dr. H. Hess

Thanks, but I don't do eBay anymore. Been burned twice, and that's enough for me.
I'd accept a "gently" used power supply, if I could get it from someone who could vouch for its care and handling. |

The ONLY good thing of my time at Dell (ClientLogic) was that it was on the same end of town as ComputerSurplusOutlet, so I stopped there to buy used and pulled parts often.
(well, ClientLogic had a really cute trainer and damn good tech at the time too. Watching her was good)
Now CSO's gone, I'm gone, I'd be surprised if ClientLogic is still handling calls. |

I've never heard of them, but that's pretty typical of most PC parts web sites these days. I'll investigate further.
Thanks! |
