Well I find you pathetic...you bought a Dell, with an Intel CPU, when you could have a custom built computer with an AMD 64 for half the price and better performance.

Dell Boi...

Not sure if you noticed or not, but the web address to this site is iHATEdell.net and then at the top of the web page, it clearly states "The Web's #1 Dell COMPLAINT Site".

Most of us are here to COMPLAIN, this site was made for us to piss & moan about the dark shadow that hangs over our lives, which is Dell.

I am sure most of us our ecstatic that you are part of the minority of Dell's clients who has had such an enjoyable and positive experience with Dell.

A lot of us have experienced the darker side of working in a factory situation where a company stalks out areas of the world where they can take advantage of a population, where labor laws either side with big companies or are practically non-existent. Whether it is dealing with upper management who are extremely under-qualified to do their jobs or being grossly underpaid while working 60 hour shifts.

Once again, I am happy you are happy with your Dell computer and I am sure we will hear from you within a few years when your cd/rom, hard drive or "whatever" else crashes b/c it was thrown around the factory a couple times or dropped on the floor before it was installed into your computer or when your processor starts to fail you b/c we really didn't try hard enough to push the pins back into place when we found them all bent out of shape.

Are you now, or have you ever been, an employee at Dell?

Many of the posters here, including almost all of the moderator staff, are ex-employees. We know the place inside and out, we know the facts, where the skeletons are buried, which managers to avoid, which managers to REALLY avoid, etc. We have walked through the valley of Hell and have emerged into a better world, leaving Hell behind.

Are they good managers? Ive been e-mailing them last few days about the XPS model Dell's trying to mind out why the XPS don't have the option of a AMD processor. You see we all know AMD is better for games. XPS models are suposed to ge gameing rigs right? Well they don't offer the XPS with an AMD.

I agree with david here. Don't click any of the links from Spammers. I made that mistake a couple of weeks ago and it took an anti-spyware/anti-malware program to finally get rid of "virusburst". (Prevx1 is the software for anyone that wants to know).

BTW david if you do go off the deep end, please pay a visit to our "friends" in RR and take away some of the pain that the employees and customers are dealing with (especially with the Christmas "Rush" coming up soon). Wink

Well I will tell you why most people do not like or like myself despise Dell.
First let me give you some background At the age of 16 I was endited and restricted from using a computer till the age of 21. I am now 24 and work in the IT industry and also an avid PC gamer/system builder my personal pc is a 3.2ghz p4 extreme overclocked to 4ghz with water cooling so I know what I'm doing. Dell has no standardization or consistency in thier systems. What this means is they do not make thier own product it is all outsourced to the lowest bidder thus giving you that lower price. For instance I went to upgrade the ram in a system once and the name on it was nanya which I can only think is middle eastern or arabic for nunya business they had the lowest cost, but anyway this nanya ram was fried from the week and they would not cover under warranty so put in new ram and a month later mobo fried. This time they did agree to send out a new mobo or I could send the system back and wait 1-2 weeks for testing then another 2-3 for repair and resend, so I could either rebuild myself or they could for me with a 3-6 week lead time now keep in mind this was about the 6 out of 15 dells we had that took a dump so i said put it up your a$$ and also said they could cancel our corporate account as well as my personal..

Not entirely true. The C2D (aka Conroe/allendale) group of CPUs are actually faster than the similarly priced AMD X2 CPUs, even those that use DDR2 ram. It all has to do with the architecture, and partly due to the fact that the conroes use a shared cache, which reduces the 'crosstalk' between cores. the cores are using less clocks to talk between them, meaning more clocks go towards other things, such as running FEAR on 1280x1020, 16xAA and 4xAF. Additionally, their architecture uses less clocks to get the thread 'processed' which makes it more efficient, and faster, clock-for-clock compared to AMD's lineup of dual core CPUs.

Did any of you understand that? Wink
