Aww, you broke one of the GOOD ones! Dell was serious about quality back in the P2 days.

Perfectly in keeping with the intent of this forum category though.

But dude! 100-200K out-of-focus JPGs?? You have no sympathy for dialuppers, do you? We'd like to hold ourselves to a higher technical standard. Posted or emailed JPGs really shouldn't occupy more than 25K filespace unless you expect the recipient to print it 8x11. The excess resolution isn't displayed on emails or BBs.

Compress JPGs for emailing and posting. It's like, virtually polite.

I know what you mean about good motherboard because I could not get the thing to fry. I tried changing the voltages, and sparking it but it just keeps on living. Next I removed the heatsink.........2 DAYS and never melted or fried. Maxed out my thermometer at 220*F, 104*C.

BTW: it was not working right before I started messing with it Rolling Eyes

Boy those are tuff rigs. I still have a Dell Dimension V350 i run Win 98SE on. It runs great with 192 Mb Ram a 40 gig HD and 20 gig slave plus a CD-Rom and a DVD-CDRW Combo. This thing flys. I agree the older Dells are better. I could probaly run Xp on it if i wanted to. I got it for $15.00 at a local shop with 64 mb ram 2 x 32 Mb sticks and no Harddrive. The man said he had one more left its a 400 Mhz. I may grab it when i get some extra money. The reason i bought this is so i can play old games that want play on Xp or 2000. The reason im geting the other is i may use it as a server. I got a Gateway P4 as my server right now. I use this P2 to surf the web more than the P4.
