Hi crappydell

I typically recommend Toshiba for laptops. They provide great reliability and quality service. My sister and brother in law both have one and have not had any problems hardware wise. HP is also fairly good. I own one. When I have called in for support, the call was answered within a couple of minutes. Plus, you can understand the person talking to you. You could always purchase a laptop kit and build your own, although that is a bit of a challenge and may be a bit more costly.

Good luck with your choice.

Taiwan is a culture that rode to success on technology and values the parameters that make things 'good'.

These days, if your product says 'made in Taiwan, Spain, Phillipines, Puerto Rico, those are the GOOD ones. It's China that has no concept of producing reliable engineered products and only does what the end-seller tells them to do, "make it cheap".

Yeah, they also make batteries you can cuddle with at night, as well.

Look closer. The products identified with Japanese corporations aren't necessarily made there. Despite the historical enmity between China and Japan, you'll find a lot of 'Japanese' products made in China. Even most Korean products, fer chrissake. Not to mention Dell components.

Look closer. A product boxed as "made in Japan" means exactly the same thing as a Dell "made in USA". N-n-n-o, it was ASSEMBLED there, from Chinese components.

Japan's economy is doing about the same thing the US economy is, 'just sitting there, getting by'. China meanwhile, is the prime force driving the cost of gasoline toward and past $3. Where did they suddenly get all that money?

New World Order. Didn't we hear that (and "homeland") around 1939, and blow it off until it blew up in our faces at Pearl Harbor? Does the current neoconservative New World Order address the teaching of history in its educational agenda? No, the tests are math (math jobs among the most offshored) and English (to make an identifiable segment of the population 'second tier').

There's a 'big picture' here folks.

It doesn't matter whether its a dell or any other brand. When we humans go crazy why can't a computer thats manufactured by a human go crazy. If your dell is crashing, there are thousand other people and there's work fine. You cannot expect quality to be same on each and every single product. If dell manufactures thousands of computer there might be a couple that may have hardware problem. If you mean to say that HP is good then why do HP have a tech support. I had a friend who had a HP. He spent thousands of dollar to get it. But he still has multiple problems. He has replaced the motherboard twice. All computers are the same. But Dell is far better than other computer's.Thats why dell is still leading in the market and many customer prefer Dell than any other brands.
