I have been at Hell, I mean Dell, more about 7 years in the same flipping job. Everytime I am offered a new position outside of where I am at, I am treated with all kinds of underhanded means to keep me where I am at. I recieved a PIP because I complained to HR. I submitted to a req, the manager did nothing and just sat on it and the req closed. I had my name submitted into a req that I qualified for, my manager gives me a phone call that I have to withdrawal. I received no formal writen statement as to why I was not given an interview or could not pursue the position. That is is an EEO violation. I filed a complaint and was given a bad end of year review in retaliation. If my performance is so bad, why I am still there. Obviosly there is some BS going on.
It's time to act on these EEO violations. If you know some attorneys I would like to talk to one. I have emails and notes that I have kept, all well documented. |

Sorry to hear about it, you are not the only one so I'm sure some help will come to you.
PS: double posting is not necessary. _________________ I see DELL people!!

Sorry to hear, Widget. Surely though, you've heard of this happening to everyone, up and down the chain, at Dell. It happens at the minimum-wage end, and it happens at the $100,000 end.
Positions posted within the company aren't 'open', they're generally only posted for compliance with EEOC rules. If your evidence shows that EEOC is being willfully violated (it is, but it's hard to prove--Dell Legal and Dell HR work hand-in-hand, exactly for that purpose) you have a case. You kinda sorta have to be a minority as well, since EEOC rules don't apply to young caucasian males for example. _________________ Rocke T Sinetist

| Well, I have some questionable emails and well taken notes detailing conversations with HR over this stuff, it is provable. EEO laws don't just apply to minorities, they apply to everyone, every race, color, creed and religion. |
