Could be a multitude of reasons, including a dead PSU, heat issues, or statistical failure.
Sounds like a mobo issue I had in my Dimension 4700. This was brought on by my Dell PSU failing [under a light load, I might add], so this iswhere I would go first.
Check your PSU, and replace it. The Dell PSU's are crappy, inefficient power supplies, and a good PSU isn't all that expensive.
