I think this is the wrong section, Paul correct me if i'm wrong but should'nt this go into I love Buying Dell's!! ? And to I Luv Dell Corp I think you are wrong dell is hell ask anyone who worked for them or had to go through customer service, Also look at this site It's called ihatedell.net it is for explaining why you dislike dell, So what if you pointed out a few positive example's of dell look at all the negative's, 1.Outsourcing Tech Support cost many people their jobs, 2. The current Employees that work there have such a bad experience that they end up quitting only after a few month's, Mostly because of management, And 3. I used to love dell, I used to think they we're number one becuase they we're the best that is no longer true, Look at all the Exploding battery's, Cheap quality in part's, And Disrespect for customer's, That is why i hate dell why most of us here hate dell, Go to through 1 Hour of dell tech support or walk one day in the shoe's of a dell employee and you'll see why dell is truly hell.

Ask anyone who works for Dell....ask me I work for Dell in the PAD accounts team, used to work for Toshiba....nightmare. NEVER worked for HP or IBM/Lenovo never want to either after the horror stories ive heard from work buddies who used to work for them. Dell has an excellent attitude towards their employee’s im a mere account manager yet I have sat in rooms with Paul Bell, Josh claymen to name but a few. There is an open door policy at Dell and I can view any concerns right to the top without fear...not many companies like that im sure you will agree.

The battery situation is unfortunate but you may or may not know that Apple have just been affected by the same issue and have issued a recall of 1.8m units. The issue lies with batteries supplied by Sony between certain dates there are more than two Notebook manufacturers affected; HP may be following very soon. Dell has shown a great attitude and leadership by ordering the recall first...why didn’t apple recall earlier and why hasn’t HP or lenovo??...hmmm

Cheap PC's you can get a cheaper pc from Dell why?
Why are dell cheaper?
1) First let me point out that the Intel chipset you buy from HP is the same Intel chipset you buy from Dell, however Dell at this stage, are Intels strogest and most strategic partner ie Dell only put Intel in their PC's not AMD (YET) Therefore dell negotiate a better price because of this exclusive partnership. This not only goes for Intel but many other strategic partners eg Microsfoft etc.

2)Lets not fool ourselves guys, the Hard disc in your pc from Dell maybe a Hitachi, it is exactly the same hard drive you find in an HP or Lenovo PC- the cost is reflected in the volumes the HP's and dells of this world buy- Dell Buy and sell more PC's therefore Hittachi offer a better price for components to dell. This is the same for every compnent that is put in your PC.

3)Direct Model, Dell is the only true PC manufacturer which sells directly to the customer, do you think the 3rd part company(reseller) which sells for example an HP computer doesnt mark-up the price? ie HP sells to the reseller at $600 the reseller sells to you at $650. This doesnt happen with Dell- no middle men to pay therefore no price hike for you!

Ok listen Rocke,Blaze,Paul,Gris, and Scoop let me handle this one when i'm done i'll let you have some fun too. Ok Luv Dell let me ask you something why do you think that dell recalled first? Because it affected them first, Why? Because dell does ship out alot of notebook's but dell also has a bad cooling design for it's Laptop's that's why, Apple only recalled because they we're worried it might happen to them too but i've never heard of an exploding macbook before, Maybe dell only recalled because they did'nt want any lawsuits towards them that's my guess, If a manufacturer recalls a product before it can really hurt someone they can avoid a very nasty lawsuit, Thats why dell recalled first. And hp,lenevo, and sony are'nt recalling because they know that they're cooling design works it was well thought out and well implemented dell's was like this
"Head engineer" I have a design that will make sure are laptops are safe

"Marketing" How much will it cost?

"Head engineer" XX$

"Marketing" That's too much we got another one for X$

"Head engineer" But this will put the Battery, Cpu and Gpu too close together it will overheat.

"Marketing" But it cost less.

That is my guess of how the conversation went.

Therefore you agree that we all use the same components to one degree or another. Apple have had issues with thier batteries over heating and HP are constantly recalling batteries and are well known for recalling batteries. Dell were unfortunate in buying a huge load of the affected bat's from Sony and for your info the rumour is that HP will be recalling.
IBM/Lenovo i cant comment about because I havent heard anything.
Apple would not recall 1.8m Bat's because of worry they recalled on the advice of Sony after over heating issues

Good spin, Luv. Not wholly objective though.

You're fortunate to have a good management interface with the corporation. Realize that there is a range, from 'awesome' to 'couldn't be worse'. My manager was awesome too. He got laid off a half hour before the rest of us.

Realize that 85% of Dell customers are wholly satisfied, and that it used to be 95%. Realize that the ones who develop problems find themselves disenfranchised by marginalized support.

Realize that top management is being seriously questioned by people with the same salary and responsibility (stock analysts). Realize the stock is worth roughly half what I bought it for in 1998. Realize that their last dozen press releases have been excuses.

Geezus, are you channeling Dan Quayle or what?
