calling the ot hotline number is a stupid policy.
don't tell me call 7 hrs fore i get up or wake up to see.
either i'm workin or not, ain't my fault y'all don't know if parts gonna be in or orders are gonna be in.
this policy goes totally aginst work life balance policy as we're puttin our families an lives on hold for a maybe.
ain't none of us paid to be on call. _________________ "it ain't personal, it's just business" |

| Word to the wise - they don't give 2 shits about "work/life" balance...this is happening at our site too. Not exactly what you described, but the neglect of "work/life" balance rather. |

Actually the people that make these decisions due care about work/life balance, but it is only their own work/life balance. Other than that, both of you are correct they do not give a shit about the hourly employees work/life balance. All they really care about is numbers and money; the hourly employees are a very distant 5th place (if it is that high). _________________ Q: How do you know Dell Management is lying to you?

The sad fact is, they do really have their own "work/life" balance. They expect you to live to work. That's their balance.

I've found that it really doesn't matter if you miss a few of these "call in days". Just do what you got to do. But I agree with you-there is no reason why they shouldn't be able to let us know if we are working or not 24 hours in advance. Instead they pull this let's schedule it and wait until there's 3 hours till the shift starts bull shit. _________________ I want to watch it go down! |

i was put on a PIP then i BEAT the PIP . I did so because managers were coming to me to tell me to quit because NO ONE gets on a pip and gets off.
Anyway. i took a few days off...they moved me to a new team . I refused to work OT for free and wouldn't ya know it after 2 days off work i was put ON THE SAME PIP because my numbers for the last 2 days were flat. |
