I found this site when I Googled "Lawsuits against Dell". I have had numerous bad experiences with Dell and dumbfounded with myself that I actually give the company chance after chance.
I purchase computers for 5 companies, including 2 RCI resorts. The scams Dell has put me through includes: bait & switch, misleading preferred financing at 0% interest (29%), not receiving rebate information, sending a refurb laptop when I ordered new. The final blow came just recently when I sent a copy of my son's military orders (he is in Iraq) and asked Dell to reduce the 29% interest rate to 6% per the Soldier's relief act. I sent a payment, copy of Power of Attorney and copy of military orders. Dell processed the payment, acknowledged the Power of Attorney, but claims the military orders were not received and therefore cannot reduce the interest rate. I faxed the orders numerous times, mailed certified twice and still Dell makes excuses (they signed for the envelopes). How many of our soldier's are being screwed by Dell? _________________ Christina |

Well, since someone renewed this topic, I thought I would formally introduce myself.
I'm from an outsourcing company from Hamilton, AL, called CLiENTLOGiC. The call center that I work for is devided into two groups: Dell Customer Care and Dell Large Business Technical Support. I work for the latter. I've been working for Dell/CLiENTLOGiC for a little more than a year, and I like it here because we are very laid back, but we get the job done. I really like my job- not just the actual 'job' as far as repairing computers, but the people that I work with and the atmosphere.
My views on Dell's policy and procedures: they are very lenient.
My views on Dell's technical support: from what I've heard on this forum, the portables department might need some adjustments. As far as overall tech support, we're second to none.
My views on Dell's Sales Dept: I hate Dell Sales. They work off of commission. Well, I take my last statement back. I dont like people that work off of commission. People will say anything to sell something, but in retrospect, most customers are gullible to believe it. If you're wanting a computer- for godssakes, talk to your neighbor's 7 year old kid, they'll give you more useful info than Dell Sales will.
My views on Dell overall: Of course, I am kinda partial, but I really believe that Dell is a good company and they'll be around for a long time, as long as they dont change anything major. _________________ Caller>Yes, I was calling to check what kind of materials your mouse pads are made of.

I believe that is a sad way to treat our military. Try being in touch with your local congressman to resolve the issue. They enjoy the press on looking good to their voters on such things.
Good luck and welcome to the board. _________________ Practice what you preach. |

Howdy all found the link to this site on another totaly differant type of forum. And they have a tech Q & A area.
When I seen the name of this site I was like right on!! LOL.
Been sitting here and reading this and that. I've kinda chilled out some.
But not enough to be happy at all with the issues I've been dealing with sence 2/14/06. I'll tell that tail in another thread
Before this nightmare I've been fairly happy with any tech support I've got.
When I 1st bought my Dell Deminsion 2400 was things going on that I was very disapoitned with. But was handeled and treated much much better than this new problem. LOL now to figure out if I start a new thread or add my story to another one.
But be forwarned it will be a novel
Thanks for having this site and it being so easy to navagate around. |

Indirectly I was a dell victim (or customer, you decide). My mother had purchased one through their advertising about 5 months ago. It started off as a $399 system, but ended up costing her nearly $1100. Apparently she was talked into a bunch of crap she'd never use, alongside the "extended warranty, which is supposed to cover everything from the ground up." Apparently it didn't. To make a long story short, 14 calls, $560, and 2 months later the machine was replaced with a decent HP unit from my job (CompUSA) as a Mother's day gift. From that incident to this day, I regret anyone who owns or is looking at purchasing a Dell system.
BTW, today I had 10 Dell systems checked in today alone. At least I got something to do for the next few days. _________________ At my job, there's a difference between a "technical representative," and a "technician."
How many times they actually get up and do something. |

I Googled "I hate dell" after being on the phone for hours to f**king India of all places. Now don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with India, as such, but I couldn't understand a bl**dy word. So I hung up, phoned a mate of mine who works for dell, and he told me about the ctrl f11 restore facility. So finally i had my PC back, luckily I always back-up my data.
The thing that really pi**es me off is I can't get a windows disk for love only money, so I'm gonna have to buy one separately, all I want is to be able to repair the heap of sh*t when it goes wrong. Although this is more of an operating system problem, the capitalist money grabbing w*nkers should supply the discs in the first place.
All that ranting aside I havn't had any more problems so far, but if I did I'd have to go through the whole b*llocks again.
The moral to my story is to make my own PC next time, which doesn't have all the sh*te from AOL, tiscali and MYway spyware installed in the first place, as if I wanted all that sh*t anyway. You'd have thought they've got enough cash already without taking it from these other capitalist who pretend to be offering you a service.
the most amusing thing is that on the Dell Community Forums they offer a fix to remove MyWay, so why put it on in the first place, without some indication - apart from the smallest of small print.
One saving grace is they provided me with the Microsoft Office disks, hurrah - a little light at the end of the tunnel.
My rant is over, I would rate myself as a midly pi**ed off owner, who is just waiting for the motherboard to die so I have a good excuse to make my own PC.
oh and I edited my own swearing just in case it caused any f**king offence |

Welcome DimDum. Brit, are ya? You type with an accent! I love it!
You can say w*nkers and bl**dy and b*ll*cks all you want, unless you wanna hold back on account other Brits come here. The rest of the world isn't offended by those. (What the devil IS a b*ll*ck?)
You can say **** too but not every ****'n other ****'n word, it loses its ****'n impact. Dell pisses one off in more 'dimensions' than just ****. _________________ Rocke T Sinetist

Yup I'm a good 'ole brit. Dell pisses people off the world over, not just the USA.
A Bollock is the two things that hang between a fella's legs, otherwise known as a "sack of nackers", on this side of the pond. |

That's a good story Dim Dum. (Sorry, didn't wanna spell it all out.) I hate the dHell that dHell puts people through. That's why I left. It's such a messed up society they are so freaking greedy and just want to reach 80 billion in profit. Doesn't that just make you wanna buy another dHell.
Welcome by they way and we hope to hear more from you. _________________ Have you seen my dell laptop?

| I just got the phone with Dell after being transferred to 4 different departments. I was so frustrated that I did a search and found this site. I own an insurance agency and have been replacing our computers with dell. I just got a new server and it is defective. I have gotten nothing but the runaround. I am disappointed with Dell. |

Welcome ehall
I don't know a lot about servers, but if you post your issues, we may be able to help you find a resolution through dHell, or possibly without having to go through them at all.
Dell is the best at the runaround. They are one of the most profitable companies in the world, so they have had plenty of practice doing so. Of course, that didnt' start happening until outsourcing became big in 2001, 2002. Good luck with your resolution. _________________ Have you seen my dell laptop?
