I work for Dell, and I have had nothing but an amazing experience. Are you guys just hell bent on causing doubt in our customers of our efficency?. I would really like to know what ever brought you boys to the point of creating such a website?. Its kind of funny however that all people hate us! Oh well... soon every computer in N. America's gonna be a dell.

with your opening poll, for a second there I thought this was going to be a mature conversation. Sorry, I didn't vote either way.

See, people created this website to share horror stories about the company you love. Now, I know this is a free society, and if you love working for company hooray for you. If you own a Dell and nothing but good times again good for you. We do not knock the fact that sometimes the system works.

Dell offers lower prices on computers. Granted, you have to give up a lot for that low price. And true that a lot of people feel comfortable on a 'name brand' system. But the fact again is that Dell has no face to face support. And worst is the fact they are nickel and diming just to get that price even lower. At what cost? Who are they trying to sell to?

Now, only the shareholders (Dell's stock prices are not that great) and Michael Dell would be happy that every PC in every household. I would be scared to death if that was case. Could you image how much control they would have over everyone? And all of everyone's information would be on a central database. Plus, Dell WOULD still ship their jobs overseas so it wouldn't help the american ecomony. But hey, if you are making a good living with Dell, I am not knocking you.

People have decent jobs at NRA, defense contractors, IRS, Microsoft, Porn Industry, and other not so good places.

Employees and customers have different perspectives on the Crooked E. The site gets those out in the open. Dell management, industry and financial analysts use it as a resource.

We also help customers deal with the tangle that is Dell tech support--most come here when they have encountered difficulty and many find resolution. Fewer site users 'hate Dell' than the name might imply. Most of us simply hate the things Dell does to people when they're behaving at their megalithic-bureaucratic worst.

How fortunate you are not to have been a targeted recipient of that. Yet.

Guys, don't waste your time and your keyboards.

This poll is going to be deleted as soon as moT or Grissom open the site.

I just want everyone to know that most of the DeLL employees in Austin Tesas, Nashville and Lebanon Tennessee, Winston Salem North Carolina are temps that are hired by tell through a temp agency called Spherion. How do I know this??? I got sucked into this SCAM... You are hired on for 3 months through a temp agency then let go most of the time for no reason after your 3 month contract is up. Here in Nashville, TN DeLL was given a $96.5 million dollar tax break to provide Nashville with jobs. Nashville was lied to and I feel they should have to pay back this tax break that they were given. DeLL seems to only exist in states that is a right to work state where you can be terminated at will for any reason without cause such at TX, TN, and NC. However this still does not explain why they are getting away with this free $96.5 million dollar tax break where they promised jobs. How do I know this, I fell into this trap and I wished that someone had warned me of this and I would have listened. Hear this Michael Dell, PAY BACK NASHVILLE the $96.5 million dollars since YOU LIED. How can you sleep with yourself at night knowing what you do to people??? Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

I deleted the poll!

That's uncalled for.

Don't do it again.

No they won't I have 2 dells in my house Embarassed and they just simply.... suck. It doesn't matter how much you like working at dell, it matters what kind of product you make and how well it preforms. And dell's just don't preform well. I know dell started in micheal dell's parents basement and with out it there would be no modern day computers but still they aren't good at what they are supposed to do. I had a dell for a while now I saw the light and built my own computer, much better then a fucking dell!

Actually, Dell started in his college dorm room at the University of Texas, not that I care, but there is a difference in a dorm room and a parents basement. He basically quit his education for this business and at the time, it was a huge risk. That was at least a decade before home pc sales really started.

Again, i'm not a Dell fan, but like to know that people have the facts straight.

I used to work for Dell, in Limerick, Ireland. It was a 4 week work experience placement, and i stayed in a hotel there. I enjoyed it at first, then when i realised they were using non-standard power supplies, it hurt me to think what customers who did not know about these tactics were feeling.

Imagine this. You buy a Dell. You purchase a 5 year warranty for it. You use it for 5 years without problems. Then when the warranty runs out, the power supply blows.

You phone Dell up, and the only two options you have are:

1. Pay through the nose to have the machine shipped to them, then another load to get the nonstandard PSU replaced. Then another sum to get it shipped back!

2. Rebuild the machine, taking out the motherboard, and replacing it with a standard one.

If you replace the PSU with a standard one, you risk killing the whole machine, so you really only have one option, the second, because the first works out at about $250, including shipping, parts and labour for Dell to do it.

My wife had the same predicament a couple of years ago, and the machine is still dead in the attic. I simply bought her a new machine, it was much cheaper!

It just seems too tempting, a whole system for $235! But this is what ends up happening. That is exactly what these arsemunches want!

I should know about customer relations, i am a SEO!

Does Tn have income tax? Alot of states offer corps incentives to start up in their state. Generates revenue for their state. Collect sales tax, income tax creates jobs (albeit sometimes temporary). Sorry you feel lied to. My experience was quite a bit different.

Like the "probably a spammer". I am definitely a spammer.

dell computers are a pain, im sorry but they are, i see a advetisment for thin small pc with such and such a specs, then find out i want a certain option of cpu that they advertise they have but is not apart of the budget price the cost goes up

or for a monitor etc etc

occasionally a deal rings true to the advertisment but so far 2 bad out of 3 is not good

when applying for a position for dell, i was categorised unsuitable, over a pyschology test

yes i was given inappropriate interview questions

i was judged by my appearance and opinions over my qualifications and professional behaviour by people in managment with whom i could easily be the equal of in a technical sense

so im sorry i feel sick of dell, because i dont fit into there ikea world coz i like to wear long hair, and because i dont forsee a long term career with them, over 5 years or the fact i dont like my mother i dont see how this fits on a job interview

so why does dell suck, its there ethics
