Why oh why must dell be such a crappy company? i bought a desktop back in march or april. at the end of may, i found out that i would be leaving the country for a year for business. of course i called dell about a thousand times trying to get some advice from them on how to handle my account. they wouldnt let me upgrade to a laptop and they wouldnt offer any sort of service to help me with the payments. finally, i was told that i could transfer ownership of my copmputer. i filled out the form the last week of june, and today, the first of november, i find out that my account has gone into collections because the transfer never went through. thanks for letting me know, dell. i spend 40 mins on the phone with a lady who barely speaks english and listen to her read off of a script and offering me no help at all. finally, i talk to her supervisor and after 10 minutes of talking to him he says he has no idea what im talking about. he doesnt even know of the form i filled out! WTF?? what is wrong with these people. is there absolutely no internal communication with this shitty company? he proceeds to explain to me that dell financial is not actually a part of dell...so, if i talked with someone from 'dell' proper about my account back in june, then they wouldnt really know about it. awesome. Evil or Very Mad
thanks for this website. i needed to vent. Very Happy

The Ownership Transfer is something that the customer and only the customer has to do and take care of.

You were pretty clear, I thought I was too, but seems I wasn't.

Dunno how it works up there, but down here when you transfer the ownership on a car, it is the seller's and the buyer's responsability to do it. State and insurance companies don't get involved, they are just told the ownership transfer was made.

However, the only way to check on the Ownsership Transfer at Dell is by calling in and when it comes to customer verification the rep will say: "could it be possible that I have another name on your account?"

I re read my post and it sounds a little rude. I didn't mean to be rude. I just wanted to tell how the Ownership Transfer works...

Lol, lol....
I know of one area edited that I brought to mot's attention.
I thought your post rather rude Paul with the "I don't care" at the end.
Not sure who's fixing things, but it doesn't help the forum if one's rude rather than helpful.
