It is so easy to order a Dell computer with all the Bells & whistles I always can get a good salesman! But have you ever tried to return and item or cancel a order? Folks you better forget it if you have to do either. Dell has no conception for returns. Order it and its ytours forever!.
On a Saturday i ordered a camera from Hell I mean Dell! anyway come monday morning I waited 15 minutes and finally got a India sounding guy who took down all my info and finally said he couldn't help me but would transfer me tto the right dept and if the call dropped he gave me the number. Well guess what the call dropped, calling back to the new number he gave me and another 15 minute wait a new india sounding woman came on, she too took all my info and gave me a referance number and the heave ho to another rep. Another 15 minutes wait and a new rep from India female came on took more info and more holding while they check krap, then after all the run around she couldn't help me because the item had already been shipped from the manufacture! I said No way it is 8:30 in the morning and you couldn't have possibly got this order completed! But she said they did. She later told me to refuse the shipment and would be sending me a refusal number for the package. What bulshit is this.
Prior to this order I did a ink order for my printer and it was the wrong ink, guess what I ended up eatting this order and never was able to return it! They don't even have a returns or cancel orders number !!!
So be sure you order what you want! Also don't use your dell account, why? because you are dealing with the same people and they won't cancel the payment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shit these people are as bad as Best Buy another one to run from!
DELL is HELL |

Welcome to the forum tonyr
If you placed the order on line you can cancel it the same way or by calling the On Line Sales dept.
For returns you should speak with Customer Care. The Refusal was not a bad idea. However most of times the carrier leaves the package on your front door, where your REF # is no longer valid.
Just for you to now, I'm not telling the Indian girl was right, sometimes the programs we use say that the item was shipped or it is ready to and more... It's impossible for us to know exaclty because we are on the other side of the world. We base our knowledge in our database and Dell website. _________________ I see DELL people!!

Call Customer Care ask for a Return number.
Demand full refund and shipping & handling charges payed by Dell. You are not a freak about asking this, it's your right and the right thing to do cause you tried with good faith to cancel the order and refuse it.
If by chance the CC rep doesn't want to do it, ask for a Supervisor. If you are not lucky (yes, if you can talk to a Sup, at Dell, you are lucky) hung up and call again till you get someone who want's to help you. There is people inside Dell, outsourced or not who really care about you. Like me when I worked there.
I hope you get this resolved, please keep me updated. _________________ I see DELL people!!

Hey Paul!
I can't thank you enought for your help! You are right.
This morning I called and talked to a guy in india who worked with me for around 45 minutes (his computer slow?) anyway he got me a return number and ups is bringing a label and paying for it all! WOW
I can't complain about this and I didn't even get worked up or hassled!
It seems there are people who do care there!
Thanks again for your advise paul!

You are welcome tonyr, you made my day. I helped a Dell customer once again and I feel great.
Don't forget that Dell screwed your order (s) and it's their responsability to fix it.
I'm glad you found help here, I personally think it's one of the most important reasons of running this web site.
See you _________________ I see DELL people!!

I had the same experience with Dell and my attempted return...I had my system for 27 days and decided based on a bunch of BS i had already dealt with that I didnt want to be a dell owner so called to arrange a return. I too was put on eternal hold and I too was transferred to numerous indian folk who spoke very broken english only to learn that you must call for a return within 21 days not 30 days as I was told by my salesman.
I complained to numerous individuals regarding the language barrier and trying to communicate with ragheads...This is what I was told by a supervisor. Yes we have received numerous complaints about the communication problems with our customer service reps, this is because our main customer service call center is overseas. We are attempting to rectify this. In fact this summer, a new call center is scheduled to be built on the east coast (of the United States). YEAH RIGHT! wHERE IN THE UNITED STATES WILL THEY FIND PEOPLE TO WORK FOR 30 CENTS PER HOUR?? |

Outsourced employees don't earn 30 cents per hour.
Now I want to ask you this:
Why do you blame Dell when it was you who didn't read the Terms & Conditions of the Sale
Oh yes, the Dell salesman told you it was 30...but as I posted before, you agreed (because you placed the order) to the mentioned Terms & Conditions of the Sale... _________________ I see DELL people!!

Dell is not supposed to send you the Terms & Conditions of the Sale.
If you want to purchase at Dell it means that you have already read, understood an accepted those Terms. If not, you wouldn't have placed the order.
Did it sink this time
I'm sure it didn't cause customers only listen to what they want.
Now, do something smart and read the Terms. You'll see who's right. _________________ I see DELL people!!

ShaftDu: good point
I think you got infected by this guy...
Here's the deal: if you place an order is because you accepted the Terms & Conditions of the Sale, no matter if you read it or not. End of story. _________________ I see DELL people!!
