Dell always prides itself with their customer service. Recently I made a purchase for my computer on Dell's website to the amount of $94.91 A few hours later; I decided to cancel the item so I called Dell's Customer's Service. I waited through 45 minutes of prompts before I actually spoke with someone. Who by the way, had such a heavy accent I couldn't understand him. He assured me that my order was canceled. A few days later it was delivered to my home anyway. I had to pay to sent it back, and now Dell says they never received it. Without insuring the return I have no proof that I ever sent it, however I sent it first class mail. Dell won't budge so I’m going to contact the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint.

I'm sorry to hear about your luck. Do you have the receipt from when you shipped it back? Your best bet isn't the BBB, but contacting Dell's corporate headquarters itself, perhaps even the legal department, and trying to make amends through those routes. The BBB will simply add it to the pile they've already got.

I take it you ordered RAM?

Just a tip man, anytime your order something via catalog, online, or phone..you have the right to do what's called REFUSING delivery. That way you do not pay to ship it back. I would be able to credit you what you paid for it, no problem. Just wish I had ya on the phone right now and in five minutes I'd tell ya it had been done. *shrugs*

I agree , i mean customers have to be held accountable for their actions on some level , It dosent take a rocket scientist to figure out how to handle a situation like that , its like you people expect us to hold your hand , and literally walk you through EVERY step of the way . What people dont understand is that we spend 9 hours a day putting out fires that we personally didn't start , and we need to be respected just like any other person , and if you treat us like crap , you cant expect your desired result. Dont get me wrong , we are trained to handle people yelling in our ears all day , but come on - you catch more flies with honey ! We know your pissed , we know you are tired of waiting on hold , we know you may have been transfered around , but at least half of the cases I deal with each day could have been solved with a little common sense , like "REFUSING" a shipment , rather than accepting it , there for accepting responsiblity for it ! Recently i had a customer take their computer to ups to return it , and instead of taking it to the counter and asking a UPS employee to help them , they simply dropped it inside the door and walked away ! Well of course the package gets lost because she didnt follow my very clear AMERICAN instructions , and she contacts the BBB , pissed off because she hasn't recieved her credit !! Any Tom Dick or Harry could have walked out the door with it , but luckly UPS picked it up , and sent it back to Round Rock ( where it was shipped from , which is not a returns recieving unit ) and it eventually popped up in the system . I mean come on , would you leave you box full of $1000 equiptment just sitting there for anyone to walk away with ? DUH !!! Thats like mailing a letter without a stamp , dont be surprised if it dosent go where you want it to . And about the calling in and getting someone with a heavy accent on the phone , just remember - your accent is just as heavy to them , as theirs is to you . So i guess it all comes down to this , there are plenty of people at Dell that want to help you with your problems , and just a little hint , we might be alot more helpful , if you people werent so damn MEAN ALL THE TIME !!! Grow a brain cell people , you remember what you were told when you were little "TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED" Idea

BTW- Of course you have to insure the return. Don't you see the sense in that? I'm sorry because I hate to be insulting unlike some other people who shall remain nameless, however, it's hard to imangine someone taking a hundred dollar item down and returning it to sender without insuring it for $2.60. But again that's just me, and I do have a little thing they call common sense. Sorry, but I call 'em like I see 'em.

Probably because we have to put up with your whining snivelling and fist-shaking all day. "You gotta get me your manager because my issue is unique and important" yeah you and every other idiot that called me today. Just shut up and let me handle it.

Only abut 50% of the customers that call in are idiots. 40% are rude. The remaining 10% actually have a clue.

I am a tech and deal with these idiots all the time.

I recently ordered a motherboard for a dimension 4600 for a customer.
The indian lady on the other end puts me on hold for over 10 minutes to find the part. Then, after I pay 170.00 for the board and overnight shipping, she sends the WRONG board. No Serial ATA connections. First off, she tracked down the part by using the customers Service Tag Number. Wouldnt you think that she would have seen SATA Hard Disk?

So I call up quite ticked off. I get transferred about 20 times to different punjabies and I finally get to where I am supposed to be. The lady tells me that my only option is to buy another board and return the other one. This means that Dell has almost $400 of my money because they messed up! They would not cross-ship me a board or anything. After telling 2 of her managers off I had to buy the board. PLUS I have to wait a minimum 14 days to get credited the first board cost. I tell you, I better get my shipping cost back!

I own a computer shop and I have more dells come in than any other 3 brands combined. I must have had over 200 POS Dells in the last year.

OH-and all boards are refurbished. Where do they get off charging that much for a freaking used part! My ex brother in law went to college with Michael Dell in Texas. He told me that he was offereda job there ( would have been employee #8 ) but said that Michael Dell was nothing but a theiving prick with Texas Oil Money. Looks about right to me!

NEVER BUY A DELL. HAVE SOMEONE BUILD YOU A REAL BOX.!!!!

I really wish you guys would quit attacking everyone's posts. Quit taking this so personal when a consumer is complaining about Dell.

Seriously.
