| Yes and no, If it's just the screen then no, but if its the graphics adapter then yes. But if it is the first option you're in luck, I would suggest hooking the back of the laptop up to an external monitor if it works then get your screen repaired if not then i would backup the data and get yourself a new pc and transfer it. |

| Sounds like it'll be a backlight issue. If you look close enough at the screen you may be able to see something. If you can, then the backlight went out and the screen will need to be replaced. |

You can also try an external monitor, if one is available to her, and connect it to the laptop. Good luck with the issue and I hope it's still under warranty. _________________ Have you seen my dell laptop?

Hola amigo
Glad to hear your doughter chose Argentina to study
About the laptop, what the guys are saying is correct, try to connect it to a separate monitor. Don't think that there is nothing else to do, it might be the monitor, the video card or just a little cable causing it. _________________ I see DELL people!!

Never forget the damn hinges. I've had 2 Dell laptops in my life and with boththe hinges started losing their strength after a couple of months after purchase. The connector inside them did not last past the second year in the first one. Screen went out, but thankfully only the hinges had to be replaced (this be back in '98 before Dell really sucked). _________________ Don't be lazy, build your own computer... |
