Been curious about Dell's authoritarian corporate culture for years. Yeah, we know most of management's just plain dicks or worse. But, why are they such driven assholes? They oughta know most of the bucks go to the top...so why deliberatley piss off so many people, inside and outside the company? One answer is that people who end up in management don't have any common sense, and being a political yes-man is maybe all they can do. Some people are evil; they like hurting others. Some are sociopaths who have no concept of other's feelings. Then something else rang in my memory banks, scary, but worth a try.
It appears Dell has used Scientology in Ireland in 2002 for training. Has Scientology been used inside Dell since then? If it can be used oneplace, it can be used in another. Do you insiders still with the company know of any of this possibility? It would explain alot if Scientology's methods are used in Dell management. It is scary, dangerous stuff. Did the training in Ireland also happen in the U.S.? Anyone been subject to extraordinary ruthless behavior from management? Curious if there's a connection.

Well, I know Michael Dell is Jewish and Kevin Rollins in a Latter-Day Saint (Mormon), however reading this article it does sound like the "performance based" philosophy that came about in 2001-2002 and is still used today. Like the previous post stated, this does explain alot. Especially the big change in the attitudes of management after Mort Topfler (a fine individual that was respected who also happens to be Jewish) left. Most of the "old timers" at Dell know that it was Mort that made the company successful in the 1990's, not Michael.

A very close friend of mine on 1st shift and I talked about the Dell+scientology link in April of 2004 without knowing any connection exist. I don't believe or know that Dell management has unknowingly taken courses on this subject matter, but we discussed how similar management styles were gravitating towards it. Who knows...maybe Dell will try any course that will give them an edge. If its just a coincedence(?) so be it. Great topic for discussion though....

Yes, Dell still uses Scientology philosophy in their brainwashi...oops, I mean training program. I recently sat thru yet another tedious "Word Clearing" class. Which is made all the more gruesome by the poor non-english speaking Polish employees who painstakingly try to understand the words in the definition of the Words they are trying to Clear in the first place. The first time I went thru this horrible training, we were given a paper to sign stating that the program was linked to Scientology, but this time there was no mention of scientology at all. Maybe we were to remember from our Induction who was behind all of this torture. To add insult to injury, we were then made to watch "The Riverdance" so we could learn of the wisdom of Teamwork. Teamwork is what transpires when your colleagues do what needs to be done without making your life harder. It's about making a play and having your L2 or Manager back that play, regardless of cost or loss but because it's the right thing to do.

Teamwork is about making each other better for the day, not using your neighbor as a stepping stone in your backstabbing campaign.

Teamwork is a foreign concept to Dell these days. Believe it or not, they found a way to put an "I" in team.

i was infact searching for nasty links between DELL, sects, cults, behavioural and brain-conditioning techniques since it seems it's not a rumour but there's something real going on.

if the info is good i'll publish an article about it and spread it worldwide.
