<<I was offered to work for QualxServ as a new employee as if they had never heard of me before>>

I think they are desperate my friend. Shit rolls downhill as if you did not know. With gas reaching $4 a gallon in most parts of the US I think they are leaving in droves. I asked this question several months ago and did not get any replies...."What is your drop dead number for the price of gas?" If you work for QXS you have already reached it. But then if you are like me you do not have another job to go to after you tell them to go F#@K themselves. I know we cant look to Hell for any help. They have their own financial problems. So QXS sure as hell cannot adjust their contract with them.

I guess if enough of us quit all over the US the repair calls will start to back up big time! Too bad so sad. Have em mail it to India!!

So who has quit?....thinking of quitting?.....is trapped like I am if I do quit??

FYI, while there are a lot of QSP's nationwide some happy some not most Qualxserv field techs including me are full time employees. As a 20 year plus employee I have not had a raise in 6 years but I do get paid training, a company vehicle, gas card, company Diners Club card, company provided tools, company cell phone, matching 401k, medical, dental, life and vision insurance, 4 weeks vacation plus holidays. My annual income is in the 60-70k range. The job is far from perfect but good enough that Im still there.

I switched from BancTec to Qualxserv last year, but only lasted about 2 months. I thought I'd be doing Dell break-fix with just a few IBM calls. They were only paying me the same as their Dell guys, so I figured that would be fair deal, and it was almost a 50% higher payrate than BancTec.

Nope, turns out I was 100% IBM break-fix...for $32 flat rate. I was ticked off, but took the opportunity to learn about IBM/Lenovo stinkPads and desktops.

A few weeks into the job I complained that I wanted more Dell work...so what did they give me? No, not the desktop or laptop optical drive swaps, that would've been too easy...they gave me DELL WORKSTATION AND SERVER CALLS. For the same flat rate they were paying their Dell desktop and laptop break-fix guys. So instead of 10-minute optical drive or hard drive swaps, I was getting 20-lb server motherboard quad-CPU swaps (plus troubleshooting)...for flat fee.

But for the most part, I was only doing about 3-4 regular IBM calls each day, so after learning about IBM's it wasn't a very difficult job, but they took longer than the equivalent Dell repair (more complicated). However, at about week 8 my boss started dispatching 4-hour response calls to me, which basically screwed over the rest of my schedule for the day. Four hour response, for $32 flat-fee? F!$#!^!#$ YOU!!!

A week or two later My boss said, "be at DHL at 8am sharp" because of a very angry customer, so I had to transfer the part to one of the full-time QS techs. I'm NOT a morning person (it's an extremely brutal rush hour drive along that stretch of highway until about 930am). So I woke up at 630am, got to DHL at 8am sharp, called my boss and proceeded to tell him I dropped off the part...plus all the other parts, and that I quit. Felt really good. I had plenty of independent work, and W2 slave wages were just getting in the way by that point (an hour after quitting, one of my personal clients had an emergency, so I made as much off that job than I would've working all week for QS). Good riddance to bad employee jobs.
