Dell complaints

First of all I would like to say hi to every frustrated person on these forums and I would jump into my journey through hell with dell!

Our first computer was a custom made desktop which was made by a gentleman in 1993... It has worked fine for about 5 years then it just could not keep up with the technology thus we had to retire that amazing computer. It did not have any problems, any replacements (other than the keyboard due to a coffee spill) and it has served me well. So this was it, time to purchase a computer but from where.....we decided to have another custom computer however that gentleman that we purchased the first computer from has moved away thus we werent able to buy it from him so we decide to purchase a computer from Dell, thinking that they are a good new hip company with reasonable prices. (I should remind everybody that this was at a time when IBM was the biggest player in the industry) and that Desktop has worked fine without any problems for 4 yrs.

Then everything came crashing down on us. After our experience with the Dell Desktop we purchased a laptop for my cousin (big mistake)....out of the box the LCD screen had bad pixels all over the place so what do we do....we contact Dell then they connect us to India......after listening to classical on hold music for about 50 mins we finally talk to a person and he claims that they connected us to the wrong department (apparently we were connected to the desktop help line instead of the laptop) so he tries to connect us to the right department however butter fingers drops the fucking phone or hits the wrong key and BOOM the line goes dead. So after a couple cigarettes we call dell again, then india says hello around 40 mins into the classical music. Then they give us the run around and say that bad pixels are perfectly normal for LCD screens and he wont be able to issue a pick up....we say to hell with it....I smash the phone smoke a pack of cigarettes and accept my faith!

A couple weeks later the keyboard has problems.....my cousin presses K and it prints J and so on....so we call dell, 40 mins later an indian named michael picks up the phone and says that they can only send us the replacement part and we would have to do it ourselves.....I tell them that I am not a certified computer repair person and I have no idea how to do it.......we argue on the phone about 30 more mins, I have an anurism and finally arrange a pick up. They fix the keyboard and everything runs smoothly for a couple of months, then the screen goes blank (apperently the back light has burned out or someshit) we call the Hell Support for support.....they tell us that it is not covered under warranty however it could be repaired for a tiny fee of 500$, I say what, They say 500$, I say thats 1/3 of the money i paid when i purchased the laptop now the same lapto is around 800$, they say sir I understand yada yada yada, my vision goes black, I smash another phone and throw out the PC.

You might think this adventure is over.....however it is not. I get accepted to college and my mother buys me a laptop from Dell for a surprise. Not to dissapoint her and thinking that the last experience was a fluke I dont return it. BIG MISTAKE! After a couple months during college it starts to show error msgs and I think ahh god damn it whats wrong now....then boom the FUCKING BLUE SCREEN COMES UP AND SAYS IT CANT ACsess the HD.....I go nuts.....punch the wall....hurt my hand.....restart it 40 times to just get some of my term paper back! however resistance is futile against a dell computer! so we call who? you guessed it right DELL SUPPORT!....40 mins and hello INDIA....the guy wants me to run the utilities cd to see whats wrong with the cpu......I do it......he tells me what i told him (FUCKING HD IS CORRUPTED I DONT NEED TO RUN THE UTILITY CD) 20 mins ago which was "Your HD is corrupted....we will send you a new one in a couple days...." I dont break the phone.....I smoke a pack of camel menthols, go have a beer and start with the term paper again at a cpu lab on campus. A few days later the new HD arrives....I put it in....it works fine for a couple weeks....then boom....same problem.......Call india....wait 40 mins......go through the fucking motions.......finally have the guy issue another HD for me......couple days and 4 camel packs later i get the new HD.....i shout hurray this is the last time.......wrong again......a couple weeks after the new HD......the CD drive refuses to work......I break down....cry and call dell.....hello india again.....the guy tells me to run the utility CD....I tell him I cant the CD drive does not work....he wants me to restart, so 10 restarts later he issues another CD drive for me.....it arrives and gets installed. Troubles are over for now.

And this is how it all ends.......NOPE IT DOESNT END LIFE HAS A SICK SENSE OF HUMOR AND DELL IS THE SPAWN OF THE DEVIL!

My grandmother purchases a dell laptop for me for graduation......I say shit but accept.......not learning from past expirience i do not return the laptop and say you guys suck.....go fuck a railroad spike......a few months later......the mother board heats up and burns....I call india....listen to a few songs on the phone and start arguing on the phone. the following is the conversation:

IN: Hello thank you for calling dell support my name is IAN how may I help you....
ME: Good afternoon IAN, a couple hours ago my laptop got extremly hot and it wont even start now
IN:Oh....seems like a motherboard issue....were the fans working properly?
ME:Yes....It just got hot.
IN:Seems like a motherboard problem lets see what I can do for you....
Click Click Clickdy fucking Click
IN:Allright sir.....we could replace your mother board however you will have to install it yourself!
ME: I do not know how to install it myself.......I am afraid of breaking another component while trying to fix it...
IN:Well thats all your warranty covers.......
ME: Well thats not really helping me is it?
IN: Yes it is....we are replacing the faulty component
ME: Well I have to put it in so you are not replacing anything
IN: Sir thats all I can do for you....
ME: how about I pay for the SH and you can just replace it.....
IN:sir we cannot do that
ME:what about the warranty
IN:this is what your warranty covers
ME: OH Fucking great.........

End -- Certain parts such as giving the tag numbers and etc have been omitted

So to summarize.....2 broken phones + about a carton or two of camels + bruised hand + lost term paper + money + about 40 hours of my life spent on the phone + and probably a stomach ulcer later = we end up with 2 broken laptops

Fianlly I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint....I do not think anything will come out of it....however I am planning to print shirts and go infront of a dell store on weekly basis to stop ppl from making the same mistake I have made.......so Dell fuck you! Twisted Evil

well make sure to e-mail the time and the place.....so armies of pissed off customers as well as pissed off employees could watch.....maybe we could even broadcast the fight over the internet for a fee (DELL VS DAVID AKA DAVID VS GOLIATH! PAY PER VIEW.....THIS SUNDAY)

Nah it's too short, Would you happen to have an extension cord that you're not using? I prefer to drag him then hang him alot more painful and alot more fun to watch. Very Happy
