|
|
I was just offered a Consumer Sales / Call Center position near Waco Texas.
Is it possible to negotiate the starting salary, relocation bonus, or signing bonus?
What is the typical base salary?
Thanks for any help you can give. |

| No idea what the starting wage is where you are applying to (it varies widely), but I have never heard of any call centre related to Dell which allowed you to negotiate your salary...It's pretty much take it or leave it...At least that's been my experience. |

There is no such thing as negotiating your salary. In fact you will be lucky to get what they promise you. If you have any other offers elsewhere close to what you think you are going to make at Dell , Take it and don't look back. It will be the smartest career move you ever made. Don't work for Dell even if they offer to pay you in advance plus expenses. They will screw you left and right. I have been trying to collect money owed to me for almost 4 years & they still give me the runaround, especially w/ the Omsbudman rep. I think they get paid by how much they save Dell from having to pay their workers. All they could ever do for me was send me a copy of my last paycheck. They wouldn't even let me back in the building after I quit to try to find out how they ripped me out of about $25,000 or more. Every time that you make your sales quota they would raise it. If you didn't make your inflated sales quota they would deduct it from your sales. Some days I would work all day w/ sales about $60,000-$80,000 per day and I would owe them money at the end of the day b/c of how they would compute your commission. If you do decide to donate your time & life to Dell ,read the employment contract very carefully, especially the part about Dell being able to raise your daily/weekly quota without "Notice" to you. They will raise your quota and lower your commission. Save your breath and work at 7/11... you will make more money in the long run. Send your resume to a company that "Cares about their employees" not a company that uses people and then Dumps them at their convenience. Right now(October) Dell hires a lot of new people and gets them trained up for Christmas- Everyone is hipped up for sales, Then Dell dumps them immediately after the Christmas rush is over, & they don't even kiss you after they F**ked you.
Play it smart & just stay away from Dell. Just buy a HP or a Sony instead.
Take my advice......
Sincerely,

Dude, you should have gotten a lawyer at least three years ago. Letting them string you our for 4 full years is absurd! $25,000 is not "chicken feed" to anybody!
Just my .02 cents. |
