Dell has no customer service representatives - only customer irritation specialists.
I have to admit that up until recently I have had no problems with my Dell which I purchased 3 years ago, other than the fact that I had to call India to get ink for my printer. Solution to that was get a new printer - not a Dell.
This past August was the first time I had any real trouble - s-video connection not working (first time I had a need to use it). After three hours of being transferred back and forth and disconnected, I finally found out no warranty and had to pay for service. Okay - no problem, I don't mind paying for service, but I specifically asked that if I found out if my computer was not equipped to handle the s-video port, would I be charged. The answer after much hemming and hawing was no I would not be charged for this information, so I agreed. About two minutes later I find out that my order with Dell had not included the driver for the s-video port. I'd say that meant my computer was not properly equipped to handle the s-video port, so I spent another hour getting the charge for this information reversed, or so I thought. I'm still going round and round with Dell about reversing the charge, usually spending hours listening to music and ads for Dell products and instructions to go to their web site and even being transferred to a department that is closed. My suggestion for Dell is that the best advertisement would be to improve customer service and find some that can speak English.
Oh by the way - my solution to the s-video problem - buy another computer - BUT NOT A DELL!! Seems like the solution to all my computer problems.
Update - now the help desk has given me a number that is no longer working. Do I really expect to have this matter resolved? No!
My suggestion is that everyone working at Dell walk away as fast as you can. With this type of service, your job security is nil. Stockholders should sell their stock for whatever you can get - your investment is doomed. Eventually Dell will not have any repeat customers because of this issue.

LaLady..
sorry, but this is crap. You had to call Service, just to notice that you donīt have
a Videocard with a s-video output?
Why not just take the cable and see on backside of the computer if there is a port where this could fit. |
