Downgrading from Vista to Xp you have indeed lost the chance for whatever free support that you could get from Dell for Hardware troubleshooting as in if you ever call in for sa a Sound Problem, the first thing the Tech will tll you is that he has to revert back to the original OS that was installed on the system and in the bargain your problem might be solved if it were an OS issue. If the problem is not taken care of the Hardware will be replaced.
