Would it be possible to norrow form topics by product types. Say, laptops, desk tops, printers, and so on. If I type in 1100 as an example, I get all different types of products. but if I were to have a topic heading of laptops and type in 1100, I'd get those models of laptops that are model 1100 topics. Just a thought.

Well worth pursuing if we got a lot of hardware-specific content here, but the hardware forum doesn't merit breaking it down into product lines.
There are already semi-redundant headings, and we leave them that way because reshuffling them is a whopping chore without losing content. And admins here aren't paid.
Dell runs a product-specific trouble site:
http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums
though it may be somewhat in disarray due to the absorption of Dimension into Inspiron, the addition of 'Vostro', etc. Contributions are like here, mostly knowledgeable users. The most active contributors have very cogent insights and links to solutions. _________________ Rocke T Sinetist
