I'm in my university's comp. lab atm and I tried using this dell to listen to an internet radio station. (one I've used before that has good quality) But on this POS the sound is terrible. Beyond terrible, disgusting. It sounded like the singers were on helium. The bass was flat. And it wasn't the headphones as they are my own good earbuds. I listened to about 2 songs thinking i could bear it untill one of my favorite songs came on. I lasted about 20 seconds untill my heart broke. It was butchered so bad. Also it stuttered terribly from a lack of memory I think. Also, this keyboard is terrible and the mouse is a fucking BALL mouse. Jeez this place needs to get new pcs. Other than that I've never had any real major problems with dell as I avoid 'em like the plague. Awesome forums here and hopefully I'll check them from time to time.

Guess what? Universities do not spend the big bucks on furnishing their PC labs with the best out there. Hell, until last year, the PCs at mine did not have a proper sound card. You can blame Dell all you want for this one, but most likely you are dealing either with:

A. An outdated system (the POS has a ball mouse!)

B. Bad internet connection.

Both are your universities fault no matter what. On our campus there was a huge push to get new everything. Starting this year we get WiFi almost all over campus and the new PCs are fricken' sweet.

Ame. You really cant be taken serious if you dont realize that its not Dell's fault - that your college had invested in cheap PCs. In their defense, you don't go to school to listen to radio stations...He, he.

One cause of 'stuttering' sound and sample-rate errors is having BOTH the onboard sound chip AND the add-on sound card enabled at the same time. This could easily happen on a public computer where who knows who could have f**ked with it.
