DPS is a seperate program like DOMS. In Europe it's called CEDPS (Central European DPS). DellServ is essentially a web interface for it.
DOMS in Europe has been replaced by Gedis - is that the same across the pond? |

In our terminology DPS is not a program, it's a dispatch. _________________ I see DELL people!!

Oh we do have DPS as in DPS numbers etc etc, but the program pre-DellServ used for call logging (no cases etc etc) and service call booking was called DPS. |

yep,
Dell"doesnot"serve runs on Tandem mainframe. That is if it runs.....
But take a look at the SUN servers within Dell, over 200, up to SUN E10k !!!
But if I was Dell, I also would not put anything mission critical on Dell servers.

| To the best of my knowledge the entire database has been removed from the Tandem servers and placed onto Dell system's running Oracle. This is also the reason for the numerous updates to DPS. It wasn't designed to run on XP and also not for accessing the Oracle database. |

Just to clarify, DellServ is NOT a frontend for DPS. Rather it is a frontend for the Oracle database. Just as DPS is. |
