I’ve been working for dell for over a year, i really love them. Best company ever to work for. The management is great if you do your work correctly. Lets say you don’t you still get good treatment like everyone buy you might not get any bonuses, good raise ect…. Also you will get put on some program so they can improve your skills. I got to say Some people just go there and don’t take their job seriously and just start bitching about what they are supposed to do; and when they get fired they get all pissed off. For me I try to perfect everything that I do, I just put some effort into my job. I got a good raise and bonus dell agreed to pay for my education so I’m going back to school and working at the same time. They pay me around 3k/ year. So if everything goes when in 4 years i will have my degree and i will have no student loans and I may have a way better position at Dell. Another thing good about dell is that they like to keep their employees, you get all the training you need to do your job and they also help you with your future goals. they pay great benefits and give your 3 weeks’ vacation. if your work to too far away they accommodate you and let your work from home; then even give you money to setup your office anyhow i think if you do your job well your will do great the management will love you give it some time usually 6 months and you will get promoted.

I bought a dell XPS 720 from dell and I love it!! I’m running the Crysis beta on High Res and It’s not Lagging.

I would defiantly recommend dell from anyone it’s the best company to work for.

7th-grade structure and logic? Well obviously SOME people fit at Dell.

But beware jack. About the time you think you love them and they love you, is when they turn on you.

Meanwhile, enjoy your naivete.

I thought Dell would at least wait until puberty has set in before hiring some people. Jeez!! Is this guy out of High School yet? I bet he doesnt even shave yet.
Enjoy the honeymoon while you can. Dell will eventually turn on you and tell you what marriage to Dell actually entails...............OUCH!!!

The key phrase here is "if everything goes when" (think you meant well).

I have all the pity in the world for you jazzjackrabbit. I was a Loyal Dell employee for many years. Did my work to the Best of my ability, got promoted often with good money. Kept the horrible things that went on at Dell to myself and did my job. But alas most of what you see on this forum is the absolute truth.
Without warning and with many promises to the contrary our site was closed in Roseburg and all were put out of work in the blink of an eye. And all this on a day they had scheduled as Pajama Day. Whoopie, wear your PJ'S to work and get turned out on the street jobless all in the span of a few hours. And did I mention we were not allowed to take our personal belongings. A promise to send them on to us made by the Site Lead. Some of us are still waiting for the things we PAID for and have never been returned. Expensive keyboards, mice, speakers cameras IPods all have disappeared into the land of Dell.
Now you tell me...............does this sound good to you. Perhaps you should check the total facts that are out there before you make generalizations regarding the employees, Past and Present that Post on this site. Get your FACTS STRAIGHT

Did you miss the announcement by Dell 2 months ago that they're firing (excuse me, I mean "downsizing") over 8,800 people? And if Dell is true to form, as many of us in this community know first hand, they'll put hundreds more on PIP, and after 60 days say that they didn't improve, and fire them also.

I still talk to former coworkers, and NOT ONE OF THEM is happy at Dell. They all say that the stress levels are unbearable, and EVERY ONE OF THEM IS ACTIVELY LOOKING FOR A NEW EMPLOYER.

If things were as wonderful as you say, then these 5 - 10 year employees would NOT be searching for new jobs elsewhere.

Good luck to you; I hope that you remain happy with Dell (and them with you).

I have a question. What kind of drugs are you on? You have to be under the influence of something to be so rah-rah about Dell and your job and your future full of 6-month promotions. What you have is a job and a paycheck and a place to stay until they decide it is time for you to move on. I have one more question. What kind of education do you plan on getting for the "$3K/year" that Dell is paying for your classes without racking up any student loans? I'm sure that training will prove beneficial when you are forced to update your resume after you have been canned!

1) i compare them to any call center were customers are provided with either tech support, customer service ect... keep on mind im not talking about corporate or manufacturing

2) sure...

3) yes they do, they train you. they give you education assistance if you would like to get a degree related to a future position at dell. so if you wanna be a HR manager you could get a HR degree or whatever you call it. also if your a student and you wanna go PT they let you they try to accommodate your life and work and find a balance.

4) yes i was in training Que and a friend of mine was promoted in 6 months from L1 to L2. He was pretty good he had great metrics. And yes dell does hire for work from home; they give you money to setup your office at your home and pay for your internet and phone line.

5) i cant think of any better job given all these benefits. keep in mind i didn't finish university yet.

for me dell is great, it depends on the person i guess. if they lay me off its for business needs; its nothing personal. if a company is not doing well that this has to be done. every company does that.
