I just recently started at Dell in Round Rock. There will be some, "just wait and see how bad things get" replies, but I can guarantee you it won't ever get bad for me. Jobs are just like life, it's what you make of them.
Dell employs tens of thousand of people and has sold billions of computers. The people that are bitching don't even make up .005% of Dell's customer or employee base. The minority is always the loudest, while the silent, happy majority just goes on with their life. You can't please everyone, right? Dell is not perfect and they will tell you that. They are trying their best to achieve perfection, though. Take a look at how Dell compares with other computer companies and you will get a much better picture of how good Dell is.
The atmosphere around Dell is very good. You will find other employees talking, joking, and goofing around. The managers are very cool, relaxed, and want you to succeed. Benefits and pay are higher than comparable employment around your area. |

But run with it, as long as it works for you. _________________ Rocke T Sinetist

...and the tooth fairy brings you a quarter when you put it under your pillow. Santa comes down the chimney every Christmas and leaves me a pony. I've even heard about a bunny that hippity hops around your house every April and leaves pretty colored eggs!!!

Not very long, but long enough to make an informed descision.

You know very little about me and it shows in this post, grandma.

What do you consider "working like a dog?" I don't know how hard you work nor what you did/do. I do know that I have had several sales jobs in which I worked 12-16 hour days/ 6 days a week. The harder you work, the more money you're going to make. However, you have to be sociable, a company guy, and have a great attitude that rubs off on others.
I am sure some of you have a legitimate complaint with Dell, and I am sorry for whatever you went through. But most of you are just a bunch of babies. Most of you guys are the type of people that would sue McDondalds because you spilled hot coffee on yourself. Take responsibility for your own actions! You applied at Dell and you have the right to quit at anytime, if you are not cut out for the line of work you are currently in.
Dell hired me straight on but one guy that was mentoring me was hired on with Spherion. Guess what? His whole class was Dell badged as soon as they were eligible. You know what else? In my short time I have already seen a good number of people that have been promoted. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. |

| Oh, I forgot something.. How come the company orientation class had Spherion people signing on with Dell? How come there were past employees coming back to work? How come there were family members of current employees joining Dell? I guess they didn't get the memo. |

Big "effen" deal - Seriously, what the hell does the fact that you're not smart enough to find a job where you don't have to work "16-hour" days...do you really think that you carry any credibility? Given your statements in this one reply, you instantly have zero.

...So by your very words, you have to be a kiss ass to go somewhere. I can't tell you how many times I've seen these same words of wisdom stated here in countless finanical books. Priceless.

This one quote couldn't have summed up more about your age, maturity level and ridiculous outlook...Good job!

We did, we quit. Seriously, you are fighting for Dell. I could understand if you owned this company but the fact that you are employee number 5,438,675...get over it. _________________ "Thank you for choosing HELL home sales and financing, who can I transfer you to today?" |

It has nothing to do with my smarts. It has everything to do with my work ethic. I understand that if I put in 8 hours a day, my commissions won't be shit. I have a bachelors degree, I could get a noncommissioned job, but those are for check collectors.

Maybe you should try to follow the advice you have read. I suggest How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie. Being a pessimistic-prick won't get you very far in life. Are you telling me you knew how to move up in this company but you still couldn't do it? Oh yeah, too much pride. You have no pride, if you did you wouldn't be on here crying.

Yeah! I am the one crying on a message board.
Here is a good quote by Dale Carnegie: "Everybody in this world is seeking happiness-and there is one sure way to find it. That is by controlling your thoughts. Happiness doesn't depend on outward conditions. It depends on inner conditions." |
